A comment like that belongs in the bullshit forum, not the NFL or New York Jets forum, you are crowding this board with useless stuff! What does popcorn have to do with league wide cuts?
well..if we're talking "league wide cuts"....i guess we're all in the wrong forum, genius. *more popcorn*....just for you.
They're not possibilities to be cut? Tomlinson is a RB well on the wrong side of his career at this point, and the Eagles have clearly found guys who push Curtis and his contract further down their list of things to care about. Why would their teams want or even need to keep them? Tomlinson I can see...Curtis is probably not an Eagle anymore. And why is threw in quotations? My fuckin head hurts...you'd think the concept in this thread would be simple enough to grasp. And the fact that we're now all self conscious about the idea of speculation is just fuckin hilarious...it's a message board where we take beat writers as semi-serious sources...everything is up for speculation.
oh crap, i just realized that my previous comment added no value to this thread. SOMEONE CALL THE INTERNET POLICE!!
I would like to hear how Tomlinson or Curtis is going to fit in. Instead of just throwing a bunch of names up, put some info up and your thoughts as to why the Jets would even be remotely interested in each player. For example, I don't understand what you would see with bringing LT here. If Leon, Greene and Jones are healthy, what would he do? If you are swapping Jones for LT, do you see substantial cost savings in salary? I don't. On top of that, out of two 30+ backs, which one was more productive? Martellus Bennett? Why would the Cowboys cut him? How will he fill in here, replace Hartsock? Is he a better blocker? I would give him that he may be more athletic and a better receiver, but what is his real strength? His aspiring rap career?
So what you are saying is they are two washed out players, beaten out by not only contract but better players, yet the Jets would be interested because they are possible cuts? Explain.
And the "threw" use is to show a figure of speech. You did not literally throw the names, but in a way put them up to see what would stick with no backing info.
Curtis - Extra WR. LT...just threw in because he's a big name and it's entirely possible. It's also the 2nd name that was thrown out in the thread I created on a different forum, and I figured I'd throw him in there for shiggles. Any DB - Because Rex likes to collect DBs and coach them up and we need a couple. Bennett - Speculation...the Cowboys have 3 TEs and I've already said this in this thread. They could also not cut him...just like the Chargers might not cut LT because of what he means to the franchise. The only reason anyone knows the guy exists is because he was featured on Hard Knocks anyway...
why would the Jets be interested in a 30 year old HB who's clearly on the decline.....don't we already have one of those?
OK? Most of these guys won't sign with the Jets, and a 30+ RB that I happened to throw in just because wasn't some super key to my master plan.
If you want to try Curtis to see if he can supplant Clowney in the slot, fine. If he can play slot, which I can't even answer. He could very well just be trainining camp fodder for someone, he is years removed from being relevant due to the injury bug. Bennet would be a more realistic move than LT. But I just don't see the Cowboys giving up on a big athletic TE like him that has only been in the league two years.
SUPPLANT Clowney? Clowney doesn't even have the job...the guy sucks. Curtis would be a huge upgrade over that idiot.
