actually, that's about right in my opinion ... and I really hate American Piss Water.

#1 rule regarding "minor league players" be they Division 1AA, 2, or 3, or guys from the CFL, or Arena league--you don't overlook production.

Guys that produce, that make plays are always worth a look at the NFL level.

There are sometimes other reasons--besides not being good enough--why guys end up at a subdivision school or in Canada or indoors.

--Late development
--Bad coaching
--Distractions (family, money, girlfriend(s), kid(s), drugs)

Bottom line, if these guys were easy to spot, Marques Colston, practicing 100 yards away from the Jets at Hofstra, would've been a Jet.

Brian Westbrook is another example. The kid was the 1AA player of the year. But only the local NFL team had the radar on and jumped on the Villanova product who was clearly a talented prospect.

This guy may turn out to be nothing...but imagine how you'll feel if he turns out to be something wearing New England blue and silver?

there were some nice highlights of him playing fullback and getting some short yardage carries on that video. I wonder if it's wrong to assume that Rex is looking at him only as a DE.

 

Looking at this guy's mug shot made me have high hopes for the tough looking sob. But watching those highlights makes the CFL look more like texas HS football, with the players' size, speed, and ability.
But why not bring him in for a try out, can't hurt.

I don't think it was supposed to. Gholston was a marginally productive athlete at a big time school. He was drafted bc of he was a workout warrior.

Foley was cut by the Seahawks on Monday and the Jets claimed him today.

...probably just a camp body, but it'd be nice if he could fill in as a rotational OLB while Pace is out.
