Rex is one great dude. He is perfect for the jets just like Parcells used to be. The jets have always been a team that needs a brash personality to lead them.

Yankees and Jets..always go back and forth on what I look forward to more..but Rex has made being a Jet fan the ultimate.

For the first time I could give two craps about the Giants and it being a Giant town or the Pats and all of their success. The success hasnt come full circle yet but being a Jet fan with Rex as your head coach is as enjoyable as it gets.

Add to that him taking care of himself...I get goose bumps thinking about the upcoming season.

To be honest I never really got the feeling that NY was a Giants town, and I grew up in Manhattan. You definitely feel that way about the Yankees, but not the Giants.

    Anyway, good job Rex!

I follow you on that point..but that wasnt my point. Didnt explain it well enough.

Compared to the Jets..football on football..its all Giants. Maybe thats the way you took it? I think so at least.

It just seems that Rex has done a great job with the Jet mentality..including the fan base. I am not nearly as negative when I think about the Jets. I do believe he and this team can do special things and that the days of the team busting or imploding are things of the past.

Parcells did the same thing when he was here...but you always knew the lights could go out at anytime with Parcells. Rex is a Jet for life.

Ohhhh I see what you mean. Yeah, pound for pound they have the better history obviously, but under this new regime no one gives a shit. It's a new era. Ahhhhhhhhh gotta love it.

The last time I had this much hope going into a season was when Vinny T pulled up lame. Here's to hoping things are different this year!

The majority of my friends down here in GA found themselves rooting for the Jets during their recent playoff run, and they all seem to enjoy Rex. Except the Dolphins fans. But that's probably the best part.

    Exactly.

And the negative Nancys will say things like "well it doesnt matter because the Giants have been more successful..lets wait to see if the Jets can win it all".

Which is true...but the season is long and the off season is longer. Sitting here in March, its great to be a Jet fan. With a great season and a surprising ending..add to that a pretty damn good off season with, Im sure, more surprises in store for all.

This should be a great season.

Same here with my GA friends -- but mostly because when the Jets are winning, I tend to buy a lot of rounds.
