They played WELL? They are ranked the #1 defense for a reason. While I do agree that the Bears are most impressive, to say we're not dominante on that side of the ball is ridiculous. We've been the most dominant defense the last ten year with the longest streak ever (and active) of being top 10. Top 5 last 5 years. Bucs have been one of the most admired defensive teams, with many of the coaches being picked up elsewhere. Not only do our standings speak for themselves, but our coaches are coveted like hot cakes. If that's not dominence I don't know what is.
No... that's not crumbling. That's struggling. I never used the word crumbling, now your just putting words in my mouth. The Panthers have the talent and skill to get anything done, but the fact is they haven't. I'm not hating on them, I think they're a hell of a team. They just find ways to lose. When I saw Vick run in that TD (or fly in) during the last game last year, I was stunned. The Panthers are one of the better teams that just narrowly miss out. They lose games they shouldn't. Key games. Like the Cowboys game last year to take the division, the Falcons game before that, the Superbowl. They tighten up on key games and don't play their best games. They struggle. NYJalltheway, I like Griese too. A few years ago, I was sitting around the TV watching the games with my friends and I said, "You know 2 QBs I really like. Brady and Griese." One went on to win 3 rings, the other a buc. But I don't think Griese is the guy we need. He's the perfect guy the Bears need. We are (were) rebuilding, and you don't do that around a 30 year old journey man. Simms is the man.
No, they were top 10, but not #1. #1 was the Bears. Who, btw, play in the worst division in the NFL. A lot, and I mean A LOT, of the bucs TDs came from awful turnovers by the offense. Griese through 3 INTs that were run back inside the 20 and the tackle was made by OT Walker. One was agaisnt the Jets. The D is #1 in yards, meaning if you have a long field to travel, you will probably gets stopped. Point is even if you have a great defense, its hard to stop any offense who start on your side of the field or worse inside the your 20.
Eh, I got a stable position. Div champs, #1 D, SB 2002, rising young O. There are 100000 Jet threads, don't mind having one partly playoff partly Buc. I do think they can be the best team in the NFC in the next couple of years. They were 1 game short of having the best record and Home Field advantage last year. They have a great young mix on offensive, a dominent D, and a hell of a coaching staff. They do play in one of, if not The, best divisions in NFL. This next schedual is a killer, and will tell alot about our team. If we can make it through, which I believe we can (with a lot of close games) we will be that much better.
Like Tampa losing to the Jets and 49ers, right? Tampa was a game away from Home-Field...That's because Chicago benched all their starters in the final week since they had a BYE wrapped up, and since they benched everyone, the Bucs had the #1 D...But the Bears had the more important #1 stat, points allowed, with only 201. They had a blocked kick against Dallas, offsides was called, when their wasn't offsides...ok...They struggle...Again, they have one of the best coaches in the league, Superbowl team in 03, going on the road twice to get there...Won 2 road games last year in the playoffs, then lost to the best team in the NFC, no shame in that. Yet, they struggle in big games. What exactly has Tampa done since their Superbowl? A division title on a tie-break, wow, I must of missed they were New England of the NFC... I still love how the division is trying to get to the Bucs "level" I see you have shyed away from that comment,
Pre season worthless prediction: NFC Carolina Atlanta Tampa Bay Seattle Chicago Dallas AFC New England Denver Jacksonville Indiana Cincinnati Baltimore if they get McNair Pitt if they don't
Im going to go out on a Limb and say 1. Raiders. 2 Raiders 3. raiders 4 raiders 5 Jets. in the AFC 1AFc East- Miami 2. AFc West - Denver 3AFc North- Bengals(if palmer out than Steelers. 4 .AFC South- Colts See alot of teams battling for the wild card.(wide open)
I love the Pacers too but I think they won't be THAT good. Ecko, the Jets game was awful, but it wasn't key. Not at all. It was a early season game. Not to mention it was with out the guy who was pulling our carraige. Even so, you bring up a bad example. Carolina KNEW the cowboys game was the game they needed to take the division. Bucs just thought it was a game, no where near the preasure or keyness (word?). You can compare that one to the Car-Dolphin game in amount of importance at the time. The 9ers game was Simms first. That's all. Sucked, but that's it. Key games are games that people at the TIME are required. Example Jets-Rams last year. (you guys lucked out but still). Falcons-Cats was the same thing, but they flunked. The were in a great position to win the SB and they lost it. It isnt just losing. It's losing game you know is curcial when your in good position to win it. And try to defend the Bears all you want. Point is the #1 Rank belongs to the Bucs. But fine, w/e. Even if you give it to the Bears, the Bucs are #2? That's still dominent! Two out of 32? Almost as good as 1! Big deal, one number. Knock us down to #2, even there my defenses dominence still stands. Again, stop putting words in my mouth. I never called the Bucs the NE of the NFC. Quit trying to blow up my arguement to an absurd level so that yours will make sense. Point is the Bucs were champions of the NFCS. They were better fitted overall (physically, mentally, coach, w/e). The Panthers were 2nd for that reason. They were outdone (thus the tiebreaker) by us. Maybe had they not lost to NO or Mia or Dal or even TB, they would have been better. But they did lose. We're on top of the NFC South, and they want to be on top of the NFC South. They want to get where we are. It's really quite simple.
Mexican Buc, Who is favored to win the South this year? Yourselves or the Panthers? And how do you see your Bucs doing this year?
^ How did Jessie edit Your post? Anyways, I think I've said how they will do in my first post. I think in the media and such the Panthers are favored. Bucs are always the underdogs. But I really think it's ours to lose.
I dont know I just saw that. Is he a mod? That's weird if he isnt.. That's an interesting take on it. I see you have full confidence in your team. Are the Falcons the darkhorse in the division than? They aren't expected to pass the panthers and your Bucs right?
