Salary Cap Update : The Plot Thickens April 10, 2010 - by Bent > http://www.thejetsblog.com/2010/04/10/salary-cap-update-the-plot-thickens/
in the comments section, Bent addresses what the Jets can do with LW. After June 15th the Jets control his rights and can reduce his salary offer to 110% of last year's salary which is 630k. I'm in favor of that because Leon chose Keels has his agent... you pay the price.
Then he gets the tender value. That's the thing. There's no chance in hell he doesn't sign his tender by the deadline. In fact, after Thursday, there's really no reason for him to hold out on signing it. He just makes himself look bad.
That's what I love about TGG. The guy from thejetsblog posts today what abyzmul found out and I was able to corroborate last night...right down to how unlikely it makes it that we'd be able to sign Sharper.
Cant you ever copy and paste the article Kelly? I know when I see those damn squiggles that I will subsequently have to sign to read what it is your posting.
After July 22nd, the final 8 (in our case 4....still fuckin sick that i'm able to say that) rules expire. BUT, UFA's can be tendered by their former team at 110% of their 2009 salary and become exclusive property of their 2009 team. In Sharper's case, he didn't make a ton of money in 2009 so if he doesn't get a deal before July 22nd (unlikely, I think somebody will sign him after the draft) the Saints get him for around 2 mill
