Preseason doesn't mean crap. Sanchez and Holmes may play in a total of 3 1/2 quarters together in preseason. Fact is, they won't be able to even practice together for an entire month after that. That will hurt their chemistry.
Nope. Suspended is suspended. The team is in an entirely different mode during the regular season, and as soon as we hit regular season practice time, Holmes has to go away for 4 weeks. He can come back as soon as their Week 4 game is over. The thing that has me somewhat hopeful despite the absence (besides, obviously, a full TC together)? Edwards' first game with the team.
Not having Holmes won't hurt our passing. We had the same group last year. Having him just makes us an original threat in the passing game, opening up chunk of holes for 'Shaun Green'.
Until Mark lights some team up for 400 yards, they're still going to put 8 in the box. Just a hunch.
The Minute Braylon got here that had to pull more into coverage, now throw Holmes into the mix. Also remember he was without Leon, so having LT is just another pass option. They'll still stack the box at times but now Mark can make him pay, like the playoffs.
Last year teams still put 8 in the box against the Vikings. This was when Favre was absolutely ripping teams apart. I know, it was extremely frustrating for my fantasy team...
I don't remember who it was but they said if the opposing team stacks the box against the Jets on first down, that on every third possession they'd PA pass and go deep. Most of the time it worked too- In the playoffs once Mark showed he was their to play the teams backed off. It'll come down to opposing teams defense and how well Mark can play and start calling some audibles.
Speaking of qb and receiver, my nephew saw Sanchez and Edwards hanging out at a club in Manhattan last week. Good to see good chemistry off the field which hopefully translates to on the field.
liquid chemistry!!!! the silver lining to have holmes out the first 4 weeks is if we are doing good without him then every post on TGG will end with "...and just wait till we get holmes back, we'll be even better!" it'll be like christmas in september!
Well, we don't actually get Holmes back until October 4th. I like how it's set up where we get Holmes back in week 5 and we also have a couple guys like a McKnight and a Donovan Warren that could step up big off the PS late in the season. Greene helped us out a lot in that fashion last season.
Year 2 is going to be interesting for Sanchez because this is where a lot of guys fall. Once there's a off season for opposing teams to break down footage like monkeys they seem to key in on your weaknesses. This is going to be an interesting year.
Yeah, I noticed that little (I assume) mistake as well. Barring injury, McKnight is playing in every game this year.
Well Greene was on the PS for the first few weeks last season, right? McKnight probably won't be though because of his STs value.
But how will it affect their geometry? He was injured and held out of the first few games. He was a third round draft pick that Tannenbaum traded up to get. Why would the Jets put him on the practice squad in his rookie season so any team can grab him for a waiver claim?
