There have been a lot of talks about the "BIG 4" contract extensions, so I decided I'll see how good we did in the past. Below are six trades. You decide if you like any of these, assuming we have a need for the players we would be getting AND the one we'd would be giving away. Trade #1: Jets Give: Darrelle Revis (All Pro CB) Jets Get: Jon Beason (All Pro LB) and Ryan Kalil (Pro Bowl Center) Trade #2: Jets Give: David Harris and either Brad Smith or David Clowney Jets Get: RB Brandon Jackson and Safety Aaron Rouse along with a 6th round pick Trade #3: Jets Give: C Nick Mangold Jets Get: DE John Abraham coming off an injury season. Trade #4: Jets Give: TE Dustin Keller And QB Eric Ainge Jets Get: WR Jordy Nelson and LB Jeremy Thompson Trade #5: Jets Give: QB Mark Sanchez Jets Get: QB Josh Freeman, DE David Veikune, and three other back ups. Trade #6: Jets Give: RB Shonn Greene Jets Get: OLB DeAndre Levy,, DT Sammie Lee Hill, and OT Lydon Murtha These were some of the recent draft trades Tanny made. If the Jets had not done these trades, see what players Jets would have ended up with. Not saying Jets would have drafted the exact players, but at least these are who were selected at that particular spot. If you were to undo one of these trades, which one would it be? Pick one.
I don't think I would make any of those trades right now. I would love to take back the Lito Sheppard and Brett Favre Trades, though
All of these players in this thread were acquired via trade of draft picks. The other players are who were selected by the picks we traded away.
To be honest, Trade #1 by default because you at least get an All pro LB and a Pro bowl Center while the other trades you barely get anyone good. But Revis is the best CB in the NFL so no. And John Abraham was a lazy POS with half a heart Jets win those trades
Yeah thats the trade that made the most sense. But then you lose possibly the best CB in the NFL right now and may turn out to be a top 3 all time NFL CB. With this trade, you would also get John Abraham back since Mangold wouldn't make sense if we had Ryan Kalil. Looks like "Neither" is the most popular choice. And thats my point. That just shows how Tanny has been. With so many options, people still say neither to all those six trade-backs.
a couple of posters misunderstand the wording. its not which trade would you make now... its which trade would you undo, making those players available to the jets.
The only one I would even consider undoing would be #6. I wouldn't undo it however because without Greene we probably wouldn't have even won a game in the playoffs.
