Posted by Peter Abraham, Globe Staff May 18, 2010 06:32 PM It's official now, the start of the game has been delayed. But they have opened the gates at Yankee Stadium and will try and play the game. Yankees GM Brian Cashman said there is a chance to play the game. We'll keep you updated when there is more news. UPDATE, 6:41 p.m.: It's pouring now. The Yankees, meanhwhile, have four security guys standing in the monsoon guarding the field. Never mind that there's not a living soul in the lower section of stands. Now there's a bad job. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/2010/05/red_sox-yankees_1.html
By not cancelling the game earlier, they do get the small chance to play the game. However, the bigger reason to try is that there is mone to be made.....they don't refund parking if it is rained out, and everyone buys food and drink waiting for the rain to stop. Sorry, but nights like tonight are simply not baseball weather. This is about the money.
leaps and bounds fellas, leaps and bounds. can the Yankees consider this series a sweep when they take a 2 game series from a minor league club?
Jeez how the fuck can you spend 200 million on salaries and not retain a bullpen that can hold a fucking 5 run lead?
channeling the inner Don, since that has become so popular, Cashman has never been able to build a pen
