http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/2010/05/santonio-holmes-ready-to-becom.html Good to see that the Jets are doing there due dilligence in making sure that Holmes can play wherever the Jets need him to once he comes back week 5.
With 4 games off and making millions his ass should know how to play QB and DT. lol for real though I glad every bodies putting in work to make this team special, if all of the big 3 can move all over the field not to mention keller and LT we`ll be dynamic in the air game
Reading the rest of the article, is the Greene Machine turning on us or something? That's two guys he's demolished so far.
In Holmes' press conference he said he's learning about every position on the field. He said Hines Ward taught him that - so he could step in and fill any position if needed. He was probably referring to x,y,z but he impressed me with his selfless dedication to "team". In fact, Cromartie was the same way. These guys with off field issues are humble and not selfish.
First off I'm going to reiterate the fact that Manish is an excellent writer and so far all his stories have been head over heels better than Cimini. 2nd is reading things like this can't make the season get here soon enough. I want to see these guys on the field during crunch time giving everything they got to get that ultimate goal. I'm just hoping that all of this is rubbing off on VG b/c it seems like he is the only one on the team that doesn't give it 100% and with Rex and this team's mentality that shit'll get you thrown on your ass quick. Keep this shit up this fuckin year is our fuckin year.
It really sounds like Mark is taking more of a leadership role and I love it. This kid plays like he did in the playoffs last year, and we're a superbowl team.
Yeah, I know that Mangold was joking when he said that Shonn was running with his eyes closed but seriously, how can he be demolishing his own offensive players, shouldn't that be a worry?
I think having iPod miss the first 4 games could be a blessing in disguise, because 3 of our first 4 opponents are AFCE rivals. So next time we play them, there will be an element they haven't seen. Just trying to find the silver lining.
Sounds good to me, especially the lastl line by Sanchez. I think we're going to be able to win 3 of the first 4 games without Santonio, but when we get him "back" so to say, we're going to be even better and the offense will open up with his playmaking ability.
Plus, there's no telling how long it will take for Holmes to gel with the offense. Aside from LT, the offense is pretty much the same one we had when we lost to the Colts except with a full offseason of work together. I think the offense is going to start out hot and possibly take a step back for a couple weeks once Holmes returns. It's a good thing we only have to play a couple games with Holmes before the BYE.
“I came here with a mindset to win a championship," Holmes said. "If I can get in those guys' heads that I would trade in 90 catches, 1000 yards for a Super Bowl ring, that’s the mentality we got to have as a team. I can go every game this season and only catch two passes a game. If we make it to the Super Bowl, they're going to look at Santonio like this guy was a big help.” I love this!
If I was gonna be a FA I'd try to impress too. But good to see him take this attitude instead of the one the media portrays....
