Was reading an article about JT trying to win over fans up there, b/c of all of the (well deserved) hate for him from the past 12 years. And then I started thinking about how much I hated Pennington and was "luke warm" at best on him before the 2008 season started.

Then I started thinking... which one was worse? Which was the bigger slap in the face, to both his previous fans, and his new ones?

Was it Pennington going to the Fins?

Or was it JT going to the Jets?

I think it was JT going to the Jets... but I'm curious as to what you guys think?

Definitely JT to the Jets, don't recall Chad ever calling out and dissing the Phin fans like Taylor did to us. Phin fans just hated Chad because he beat them so much.

Chad never left on bad terms, it was just simply his time to go. Many Jet fans will say the same thing, loved Chad, but he couldn't bring us any further than he already did. In turn, he went to the only team that was willing to play him as a starter and took them to the playoffs in a year the Jets weren't competitive. I defy you to try to name one Jet fan that hates Chad Pennington bc he is a FIN.

Now, we don't know exactly the relationship between JT and the Fins, but we do know that he made a lot of poor choices towards the tail end of his career. First bolting to the skins for the money, then coming back to the fins but really caring more about Dancing with the Stars, and finally by trying to win a SB with a team that both he and the fans have hated for years and years.

As a Jet Fan, I say JT.
As a Fin fan, I say JT.
As a football fan, I say JT.

Big difference between the two, one is a ballls to wall athlete that is always team first, the other is a supremely gifted athlete who always puts money first.

I was happy to give you guys Chad, because I knew he wasn't going to be a long-term answer for you at QB. I'm still outraged that Taylor decided to play for us. If he has a great season next year I'll probably change my mind but I'm still of the viewpoint that you have to like the players that play for your team and I don't like Taylor at all.

Definitely Taylor to the Jets, after all the comments he had made about Jet fans and hating the team. He was also in Miami for a longer time than Chad was in NY.

That guy looks like a solid QB, we should trade a 2nd round pick for him.

    That's about where I sit.

Watching the Fins fans hopes and dreams come smashing to the ground in the playoffs with Chad at the helm was quite gratifying after they took the division and talked so much. Funny thing is, we knew what was next for the Fins and got to enjoy it.

Yeah the playoff implosion in 2008 followed by the injury in 2009 was vintage Chad, it's like the cyclical story of his career. The Buddhist wheel goes round and round.

I expect some desperate team out there to give Chad another chance to play as a starter and he'll have another really good season for them followed by a sudden playoff exit and then an injury the next season.

How about we get through 2010 before we start thinking about 2011?

Being that we are in June you can start referring to the 2010 NFL season as this year and this season already. I've noticed numerous recent posts of yours referring to 2010 as next year/season and was actually mildly annoyed by it. There were a couple instances where I was unsure if you were talking about 2010 or 2011. Sorry.

Taylor is going into the HOF as a Dolphin. Its got to sting more for Dolphin fans seeing him go to the Jets then it does Jet fans seeing Chad go to the Dolphins.

I totally agree with your post, but I have to nitpick something.

He's not going into the HOF as a Dolphin. He would go in as a great pro football player who happened to play with the Dolphins, Redskins and Jets. The PFHOF doesn't put a helmet or team logo on the busts like baseball does with the hat on the plaques.

Taylor going to the Jets is just like when Karl Malone went to the Lakers late in his career in an effort to win a league title. That was such a slap in the face to Jazz fans.

Yeah, this is a no brainer. JT coming to the Jets is far worse.

Chad is and was a class act. There weren't and shouldn't have been any hard feelings on either side. On the other hand, Jason Taylor was a sore loser bitch who couldn't accept his own homosexuality. Fuck him. Until he sacks Tom Brady, I'm not even considering him a Jet.

I voted Chad to Miami was worse, because he revived their team and walked out of our stadium in the end with the AFC East title while we had Favre shitting the bed on us in his place. There is almost no way Jason Taylor on the Jets can work out any worse for us than that did.
