5: Cleveland - There's the Mangini connection, and there's the fact that it seems like a third of that team was acquired in trade for Mark Sanchez and Braylon Edwards. I am not sure that this will be a great game, nor am I sure that I want it to be. Even though I don't bear as much ill will toward Mangini

4: Minnesota - How can you not want the Jets to beat the shit out of Brett Favre? I didn't even hate him, and still don't, although a lot of Jets fans hate him now and many hated him during his season here. It's not so much about his annual flip-flip-fest for me, more about how he used the Jets as a stepping stone so he could get where he wanted to be and stick it to the Packers. I know it's premature, but I'm thinking that Revis is on Sidney Rice and that he has a pretty good day against the NFL career interception leader.

3: Cincinnati - I know this is kind of an odd one to have at number 3, but there is some bad blood now between the Jets and Bengals, in case you haven't heard. Cincy players were taking some cheap shots on the Jets, and you know that memories for something like that in this league are rough. And if you don't think Bengals fans are pumped for this, try going over to the Jungle Noise forum on Bengals.com and do a search for threads containing the word 'Jets'. There's over 4 pages worth of threads in that forum alone, and most are pretty recent. I think that is going to be the game to watch on Thanksgiving, not that it's saying a lot.

2: New England I - Until we win the division, and until we can complete a season sweep of the Pats - and I don't care if it's becoming cliche - the Pats are still the team we need to beat down to become the primary threat in the AFC East. The Jets and Dolphins both have gotten some much-needed hype and personel moves this offseason, but Belichik is quietly building a young team that could end up prolonging their success. Here's to Rex giving Belichick and Pats fans the proverbial kick in the teeth in week 2. I hate the fucking Patriots.

1: Miami I - How much do you want the Jets to shut Phintard Phans the fuck up about sweeping us in 2009? That's all they have on us, but they are like a single mosquito in a tent. You keep hearing that little bastard buzzing by your ear, and you know that you're going to end up with a few bites, but if you could only just squash that little bastard, you'd be rid of it. That's Dolphins fans. You beat them and they disappear like smoke. I want the Jets to beat the hell out of that team.

What games are you guys looking forward to most in the upcoming season?

Baltimore's #1 on my list. I want to see how we measure up against our evil twin team.

They run well, their D is rock solid, and they have a serious vertical threat.

Second's gotta be Green Bay, which I think will be the toughest test of just how good our secondary is.

Frying the Fish is a given, definitely want to shut down Brady in our house again, so that's 3/4 interchangable.

Fifth, believe it or not, is Detroit. I think they're gonna surprise some teams this year, and we play them late enough that it might be a trap game. I wanna make sure this team can get it done when they should.

1: Miami I - Living down here, its all i heard. Being swept. I want BLOOD!

2: New England - Hate the pats, always will. Lets stick it to them. The east goes through NE.

3: Baltimore - Gotta win this for sexy rexy. Plus its a great test to see where this team is.

4: Minnesota - Screw Bert Favre.

5: Pittsburgh - No matter what, its going to be a tough game. If we get a win, we'll def be ready for the playoffs.

The only one I would definately differ on is Cleveland. I've never held any ill will towards Mangini and I believe he doesn't get the credit he deserves from most Jets fans for having essentially built the core of this team. (The word "core" might be a stretch but he is undoubtedy solely responsible for Revis and had a big hand in Mangold, brick, Jenkins, and Keller, and in general, I just think he put us on the right path towards being a consistent winner in the NFL) Also, the Browns are just such a boring team to me, despite having several ex-jets.

    1) Miami

    2) New England

    3) Miami

    4) New England

    5) Miami

    etc, etc . . .

I am definately going to tune in when you guys play the Vikings!!!! That is going to be a very attractive game to say the least. With Favre there, and 2 of the top 5 defenses in the leage..... gunna be wild. I think it will all come down to how well Sanchez handles it. If he plays well, Jets win, reguardless of how well Minnesota plays, but if he has a lackluster game, Jets lose reguardless of how bad the Vikings play. Going to be a tough game for you guys though, Favre loves to embarress former teams. Correct me if I'm wrong though.... don't you guys play them at NY?

I am pumped the season is so close now!

No doubt the 2 Dolphins, 2 Patriots, Vikings, Browns, and Ravens are the most exciting.

    1.) Fins - obvious reasons

2.) Vikes - I hope we beat the living shit out of Bert

    3.) Second Fins game

4.) Ravens - I'll be there...first game in new stadium...they are certainly a playoff caliber team

    5.) Texans - I love Thanksgiving football

    So colorful, abyzmul.

Week one against the Ravens takes the cake for me. Not just because of Rex, either; I want to see Jim Leonhard and Bart Scott beat their old team, too.

Add to that the fact that Baltimore looks like one of the strongest teams in the NFL and it's the first football game of the season and it's MNF... that one is easily the marquis match-up of the season for me.

On the other hand, the look on Eric Mangini's face during the Jets-Browns game will be my new avatar, I'm calling dibs now.

I'm actually more interested to see how you guys handle Minnesota.

How does Henne handle being hunted by Jarred Allen in the Met?

Your road schedule is hell on wheels...

It kinda sucks that I'm going to get most of my anticipated games early in the year, but I'm gonna go with:

    5. Vikings (Oct 11)
As great as it would be to see Sanchez outsling Favre, or Favre getting his ass kicked by our blitz schemes, there's other matchups I'm more interested in, like our OL vs their DL and vice-versa. The Vikings have been known to keep opponent's running game down for consecutive years and this will surely be a test for our OL. Jared Allen vs Brick will also be a marquee matchup and AP coming to the new Meadowlands will be exciting as hell to watch.

    4. Packers (Oct 31st)
Rodgers is scary good and those WR's are pretty damn good as well. Jennings, Driver, Jones and Finley will be tough to guard against. Definitely a good test to see if we match up well against (what I think will be) one of the best teams in the NFC.

    3. Ravens (Sept 13)
A lot of analysts and NFL fans in general believe the Ravens have become the team to beat with their off-season acq's and Draft picks. I'd love to say how it would all depend on how well Flacco does, but their running game is very good. Flacco SHOULD be better with Boldin as one of his primary targets and both teams preach the same defensive philosophy. It's going to be tough, but certainly a team we may need to face twice this season to get to the promised land.

    2. New England Patriots (Sept 19)
Not much needs to be said here. The rivalry between these two teams has pretty much built these games to be a "Must-see" for all Patriots and Jets fans.

    1. Miami Dolphins (Sept 26 & Dec 12)
I couldn't put it any better than Abyz' post. Their "Nah-nah-nahnahNAH, you-got-sweeept" is utterly annoying. I want the Jets to return the favor this season and sweep 'em so that all Dolphins fans can seriously shut the fuck up about their gay lil' team.

    5. Bengals - I want to hear what Ocho Cinco's excuse will be this time around.

    4. Ravens - First game of the year, Rex's old stomping grounds, and a stifling defense to test our offense right out of the gate. We'll know early on if the all the offensive moves we made in the offseason will pay off.

    3. Vikings - I'll be in attendance for this game, first ever for me...I wanted to see Favre get destroyed from the stands....and hang out with some TGG folks in the process.

    2. Gay Sharks I - I'm tired of hearing about how the Phins are the up n' coming team in the AFC east AND I'm tired of hearing about the "sweep" from last season.....it's time to nut up or shut up for the Jets. I expect this to be an epic battle.

    1. Patriots I - It was mentioned earlier in the thread...and I'll mention it again. The Pats are our litmus test....till we topple them on a consistent basis and start winning some Division titles....they will be our benchmark season in and season out.

Oh I know man, we have Minnesota, Green Bay, Baltimore, and Cincy on the road this year. Brutal man, just brutal.

As far Jarred Allen is concerned........ I think "Big" Jake will hold his own against him.

"Favre loves to embarass former teams" He played against only one former team and it was one season. You act like hes been playing "former" teams his whole career

5: Dolphins- Division rival who had I to watch beat the Jets in a bullshit game at Meadowlands last year. If we want to be the new kings of the AFC East the first step is to knock the Dolphins down a peg. I think it might be fun watching Taylor go after Henne as well. I think the first Miami game is where I will either become a Taylor fan or continue to hate him as much as always.

4: Minnesota - One of the better teams in the NFC with one of the games elite running backs and a ruthless Dline. Sanchez is going to need to be full of his so-called 'poise' if we are going to survive this game. Add Favre into the mix, and we have all the makings of a classic.

3: Packers - There's little I look forward to more than seeing how the new pieces of our secondary look this year. We are on the cusp of being one of the all-time great defenses, and a test against Rodgers and the air it out Packers should really show where our secondary is at and whether or not we will be ready for the Colts if we meet them again in the playoffs.

2: Ravens - Rex's old team, and one of our main competitors in the AFC. This will just be great smash mouth football, and I'm sure Rex will have some interesting stuff up his sleeve for a rematch with his old team.

1: Patriots - The reigning AFC East champs, and our main rival for the past decade. We've been looking up at them in the standings for too long, and if we want to win the division this year it still goes through Brady, Belicheck, and those goddamn cheats the New England Patriots.

Doesn't make the Top 5 but if we beat the Giants in the preseason opener do we get to call it "Jets Stadium" all year?
