I haven't seen a topic that talks about how people have been feeling as of late when it comes to our team and TC is right around the corner so I figured I wanted to see how everyone's psyche is going into TC

It's been a hectic off-season and shit we all know that, we made some acquisitions that at first we may not of liked (Cromatrie, Folk, and JT for example) and lost some players we absolutely didn't want to lose (Jay Feely, Alan Faneca)

I feel confident knowing that we can be the best team in the AFC next year if we execute our gameplan and play EFFICIENTLY. This so called "window of opportunity" for us to win and win big has opened up and this time our team can't let anything stand in the way of that (contracts, unhappy players, etc), i'm not saying were destined but I feel really good about this team, l haven't felt this way about the Jets potentially being this good in a good while now.

What keeps me going is just the hate that our team has been getting, every random message board I tend to visit, every fan of another team that I know of personally it just seems that no one thinks we will succeed or gives us props, the excuses (Sanchez, Cromatrie being "horrible", The Colts game excuse for us to get in the playoffs), our history, and so on and so forth.

For the first time in a while we have a ballin ass defense, we got an offense that can at anytime explode and a coach staff that not only can get the most out of our players but can help them become leaders (Remember when Revis at first didn't want to be that leader of the team he just wanted to play, now he's quickly become the leader of our team) and great players on the field

Now I haven't been on this board THAT long to talk to the older Jet fans and experience what they've experienced or felt what they've felt, but I feel this is our time finally, let's hope we get a little bit of lady luck on the way and deliver some pain and punishment to the people that been hating or team, talking this team down

When I think of this season, it's the Jets Revenge Tour, fucking up each and every team and completely making fans of other teams' absolutely miserable, we've felt that way before now it's their time

So yea ... I feel pretty good bout this team going into TC how bout you?

I always get super-excited before the start of any season, but this season in particular has me panting. I want to be sedated.

Feeling good but let's see how certain pieces are addressed:

    1) Will our RB corps remain healthy deep into the season?
    2) Are we getting Sanchez of the early part of the season or "Playoffs Sanchez?"
    3) Who will be our starting LG and how much of a dropoff, if any, will we see from Kendall?
    4) Kicker/Punter- alot of uncertainty there.
    5) Revis- nuff said.
    6) Our DL is getting long in the tooth without much quality depth. Will Jenkins make it through an entire season? Will there be a big dropoff in Ellis' play?

Those are my big questions heading in.

Yeah, I'm feeling positive, but I'd like to see the Revis situation finalised, that would have me amped beyond recognition.

Feeling pretty optimistic here....especially if Sanchez continues to build on his stellar playoff run.

    I am pessimistically optimistic.

Two things of concern - health of the players - injuries. If we don't lose a significant player to a significant injury, the team will do very well.

Sanchez development. This is probably the most important aspect of the team's function. If mark can play the regular season like he did in the playoffs, We might see another 12-4 season. If he's better than last year but quite as good as we hope - 10-6.

The whole offense is riding on Mark's capability to have more TDs than Ints this year and his play as a whole. If the post season play, his development by watching film, and the knee is good, we should be in for a very spectacular season.

    1) Hard to know about that early on. One to watch
    2) Hopefully neither. I'd like to see him better all-round.
    3) Adrian Jones says Hi!
    4) Agreed.
    5) Yes.
    6) This is also a concern, though they seem high on Pitoitua.

I would feel much better if the Revis thing is taken care of. The problem is, being a Jet Fan. I do not believe that the team can back up Ryan's mouth. Make no mistake, it is still refreshing to have a coach with swagger.

I just think the team will come up short this year.

This is not my first rodeo. I know there will be great moments, bad moments, moments when I think the season is over, moments when I think we will win the Super Bowl, but it all comes down to making the playoffs and succeeding in them. I am excited.

I think this season he knows what his role is, last season I think his role was somewhat undefined, he tried to be a hero in many instances last season and that didn't help his cause at all last season.

It's going to be nice getting a full training camp finally with Braylon and Holmes as well, LT will help him a long the way. I don't think we will see the "Playoff Sanchez" more like a balanced, makes plays but keeps it safe type of Sanchez, but the key is to make sure we ease Sanchez into the season, don't give him the reins right away, ease it in slowly let Holmes get comfortable and by the end of the season he should be in good shape.

Sanchez of early 2009 was stout (well, first three games). It's mid-season Sanchez I worry about.

I'm in basic agreement with that list, although I have no particular concern about Ellis at this point. I didn't notice any drop off last year and have no specific reason to think one is imminent. The DL could use depth, probably more than other units on the team, but Ellis himself is not a concern of mine.

Funny you mentioned Kendall at 3, btw. Obviously you mean Faneca, although we are talking where Kendall played. I would rate that as definitely a concern, but aside from the need to get Revis out there, I would say my main concern right now is 2.

One of my main reasons for cautious optimism is despite fearing being too hopeful and being disappointed, there is logic to saying that the Sanchez we saw most recently is the one we're most likely to see again. But we don't really know that, and a return of too many interceptions would kill this team more than anything else on that list, including Revis not playing, imo.

One of the things not on your list which still deserves talking about is the receivers. I am perhaps most optimistic about this unit, that depending on whether Revis has his situation acceptably resolved in which case it would be the secondary. This could be the best group of receivers on this team in a long long time, maybe going back to Walker Toon Shuler, Townsell at #3 and McNeill and Hector out of the backfield. Maybe even better than those guys.

But, we don't know that yet, either. I am virtually certain Edwards breaks out this year, but boy will I disappointed if not.

I feel very good. I have questions that need to be answered but I feel confident that if those questions are answered we'll have a chance to make it to Dallas.

I am very confident in Sanchez. I don't expect him to be a star but I expect a huge leap forward w/ the way he got it during postseason and w/ the new weapons.

I am very confident in the D. Although our D was not dominant a year and folded in some big spots it was year 1 in the system and now w/ experienced players, Jenkins back and the moves we made we SHOULD have a dominant D.

    My 3 questions:

OL: How will Ducasse replace Faneca?

RBs: Talent wise Greene was our best back last year but can he take the pounding of 16 games and what LT will we get?

STs: We lost a reliable K for a guy who hasn't been reliable the past couple of years plus we lost some key STers.

If those 3 areas come up positive and we are rleatively healthy I think we have a great shot to play deep in Jan/Feb.

I feel good, but I think the Dolphins are going to better than we realize. As much as the they are our rivals, and they might be hated, they also have a solid squad with a coaching staff that rarely gets out coached. I think the race for the AFC East is going to be a close 3 team race.

My two biggest questions for this team are all about the fourth quarter.

When it's time for the defense to hunt, and our opponent is down by 4 with a 2 minute drill on their own 30, can this defense close the door?
They did it once last year against Brady.
They failed at it three times.

And on the flip side, can Sanchez take us down by 4 on our own 30 in a 2 minute and win it for us?
4th quarter comebacks are the signature of the great ones.

Those two things more than anything are gonna tell us what this team is made of if you ask me.

Their defense was close to mid 20's in a lot of ranks last season, and their secondary is almost completely reliant on youth.

They are going to be good, but the Jets are going to be great.

I agree with particularly the second point. A team can win the big one with an average Qb, but that's difficult to do. The Jets have not had a Qb that can do that since Vinny. That was one of my main complaints about Chadwick. Does Sanchez have that ability? I don't know.

I think the Phins are overrated and are getting a little too much media love this offseason.

    Here's my reasoning:

    1) They rely on a gimmick offense
    2) Ronnie Brown's knees are made of plastic
    3) I wasn't encouraged by Henne's play over the last few weeks of the 2009 season
    4) Who's going to play NT? (Fergie retired)
    5) They have a glaring hole at Safety...
    6) Did the CBs improve or regress? Mushin Muhammad thinks they have the best CB tandem in the league...reality seems to dictate otherwise.

I want to see the Jets smoke the Phins this season...like any other season. But i'm not as worried about them as most people are.....The Pats are still the big threat in our division.
