A lot of people on this board (i am not saying everyone) Think if someone gets hurt the completely Suck and will never be good again. A lot of people arent willing to give they players chances that got hurt. People are saying oh Blaylock Sucks and he was never good. he was only good behind the Cheifs O-Line. He broke his ankle last year but that doesnt mean he cant recover and you are going to cut a player that we may need cause the got hurt last season and they can recover that is just plain stupid.A lot of People think J-Mac sucks. He had a bad QB situation last year and i am pretty sure he hurt his hamstring or something and they think " Oh well since he got hurt the Jets are going to put him at the 4th WR postion. He did great in 2004 and i think he is a solid #2 WR. Also some people not to many think Barton is done and is no longer a startin Linebacker and most of All chad Pennington EVERYONE liked Chad Pennington in 04 when he got us to the playoffs. But when he Hurt his shoulder last year A lot of people lost hope and are not giving him a chance at all. You need to give every player a chance all thought he has had 2. Chad only needs one more Chance.
Hope I'm not tempting fate here , but do you think that if Vilma broke his leg that people on here would say the same thing?
Well it depends. I am sure some people would say he is done. But most of those players i mentioned were more exeperinced. Vilma has only been in the league 2 years an this will be his 3rd year but i think more people would say he is done if this was his 5th or 6th year.
Yeah i agree with you but Barrett i think is a pretty good CB and he had a great year in 04 but last year he had an eye injurie and something else to his leg i cant remeber what but he didnt have a good as a season as he did in 04 and people think he is a horrible CB it doesnt really make any sense. But i agree with you still.
Are you kidding?! I'll bet there are 2500 Pennington jersey owners on this board. People here have invested their money and every ounce of enthusiasm on the guy, with a very limited resume of success. I think most people around here are supportive, but not willing to bet the family farm of "one more chance," when his history is so sketchy.
Who are you tryin' to get crazy with, esse? Don't you know we're loco? Seriously though, I have no idea what you are talking about. People don't want Blaylock here because most believe he is a product of playing in Priest Holmes's spotlight and behind the Kansas City OL. People are also just being realistic with Chad. The others you mentioned, I have no idea what you are talking about and have never come across anyone who thought any of those things.
Just curious as to the rules here – what if a player sucks and then gets hurt; does he then cease to suck because he is then considered injured or unlucky?
Players who can't play anymore because of injuries are considered to be busts. You draft a player high and then because of an injury he never gets to play anymore and years later when people look back they say that he was a bust. Any player can have his career come to an end because of an injury. If Chrebet or Al Toon had retired in their first or second years because of an injury, they would never had had the chance to become great players.
Agreed. 1 season. Not 3 straight seasons with 2 of those in a row and both are devastaing injuries for that position especially when the player you are trying to mention has had major surgery on the most important part of his body to the Jets twice, 2 years in a row, in the same spot for the same problem when he already threw softly before hand. Pennington doesn't suck, but how does he give you any confidence that he'll be there when you need him? He's another John Abraham, except Abraham was worse win the injury timing.
If you keep Barrett away from fast receivers, he'd be excellent. Just throw him up against the opponent's slowest guy as our nickel CB this year and he'll be fine.
That's a bit ridiculous. Barrett is a very good corner, he just needs help over the top. Not very good against the deep ball, however that's not because he can't keep up with them, it's because he doesn't turn his hips well.
I don't mind Blaylock, but I think Washington is going to be much better than Blaylock, but in the same mold. Thus I don't think we have the luxury of keeping both of them. Conversely, I am not a Cedric Houston fan, but I am resigned to accept that he is the only "big" back on the roster so he deserves a spot just to try to punch it in at the goal line.
