    I was drafting 9th in a 10 team league:

    Round 1) Peyton Manning
    Round 2) Frank Gore
    Round 3) Roddy White!
    Round 4) Larry Fitzgerald!

I couldn't believe it. Here is my roster:

    QB: P. Manning, J. Cutler
    RB: F. Gore, R. Brown, B. Jacobs, T. Hightower, L. Maroney
    WR: R. White, L. Fitzgerald, S. Holmes, R. Williams
    TE: V. Davis, K. Winslow, D. Keller
    PK: D. Akers, J. Feely
DST: Jets, Bucs (bye week for Jets....playing the Rams)

I'm pretty pleased. Didn't work out how I planned, but I can't really complain.

Yeah for a ten-team league it seems like pretty bad depth at RB and WR...how many players do you start at what positions?

I drafted based on best player available (I took Davis in the 5th, Winslow in the 11th and Keller in the 16th). I didn't need the third TE....but it was a late round pick and I had Keller rated highest. I figure I have plenty of TEs for trades. Having to take 2 WRs that high didn't leave me much in the way of RBs. I ended up taking Davis and the Jets at 5 and 6....which didn't help my RB situation any.

I can start any of these:

    1. Pro Set – 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK, and 1 DEF/ST
    2. Run & Shoot – 1QB, 1RB, 4WR, 1TE, 1PK, and 1 DEF/ST
    3. Smash Mouth – 1QB, 3RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK and 1 DEF/ST

    And here's the scoring system:

    5. Scoring: A player may score from any position on the field in the following manner.
    a. Passing:
Yards passing = .05 points per yard thrown (e.g. 215 passing yards = 10.75 points)
6 points for every passing TD
Minus two points (-2) for every interception thrown/fumble made
2 points for every successful 2-point conversion
    b. Rushing:
Yards rushing = .1 points per yard rushed (e.g. 89 rushing yards = 8.9 points)
6 points for every rushing TD
Minus two points (-2) for every fumble made
2 points for every successful 2-point conversion
    c. Receiving:
Yards receiving = .1 points per yard received (e.g. 89 receiving yards = 8.9 points)
6 points for every receiving TD
Minus two points (-2) for every fumble made
2 points for every successful 2-point conversion
    d. Placekicking:
+/-1 pt. for each PAT Made/Missed
    FG MADE: 0-39yds = +3, 40-49yds = 4, 50-59yds = 5, & 60-69yds = 6
    FG MISS: 0-39yds = -3, 40-49yds = -2, & 50-59yds = -1
    e. Team Defense/Special Teams:
    2 point for every interception/fumble recovered, 1 point per sack/blocked FG/Punt
6 points for every TD (Kickoff/Punt/Int./Fumble/Blocked Punt/FG-Returned for a TD)
    2 points for every safety
6 points for 1-10, 3 points for 11-20, 0 points for 21-30, -3 points for 31-40, and –6 points for 41+ Points Allowed per game by your DEF/ST.

    f. Bonus Points:
    5 points for 300+, 400+, and 500+ yards passing and/or 100+ and 200+ yard rushing/receiving
10 points per Defensive scoring shutout

Oh....and I also have Mike Williams from TB on my rookie team/practice squad. The rookie draft reduced the pool of available players (like Spiller, Matthews, and Best were all gone before the main draft started).

I can call him up at any time, but I need to drop a player from my main roster. I'll likely do that at some point this season.

For a 10 team league, you shouldn't have drafted 2 kickers and 2 Def.

Im pretty sure the Bucs D would have been available during the Jets Bye. If there are some sleeper WR and RBs available, you should pick them up now and if they dont pan out. you can easily drop them for someone else or drop them during the Jets bye week and pick up a D

    Awesome.

QB - Manning.. monster year guaranteed.
RB - Gore is very good. But dude.. Ronnie Brown I think has a poor year. Brandon Jacobs and Maroney are garbage. Hightower MIGHT have an o.k. year. I think you screwed up here.
    WR - Very good.
TE - All really good, but you don't need 3 of them. Try trading Winslow, R Brown, and J Feely for a good RB. Hopefully someone bites.
K - Like I said, trade one or release a kicker. No point in having 2 of them.
D - Jets are good. Drop the Bucs.

Honestly, I've always felt that having backups for guys like Manning, Davis, and the Jets D is a complete waste. Backup Ks never make sense.

I'd look to trade Cutler and Brown for an upgrade at RB2 or WR since you can play 4.

Generally, I would agree, but in this league we have to pay $5 per transaction, so my plan is to drop them after the bye weeks and pick up replacements at the skill positions. IMO serviceable WRs are a dime-a-dozen.....so I'm not too worried there, but RB is an issue for me.

Agree....didn't like any of my RBs after Gore....but seriously there was not much on the board at the point I started with Brown. This is what was selected after him as far as RBs:

Harrison, Jerome (probably should have been my pick)
    Jacobs, Brandon (who I took)
Forsett, Justin (who would have been an OK pick)
    Portis, Clinton (too much mileage)
Williams, Cadillac (OK....been burned before with him)
Williams, Ricky (maybe better than Brown)
    Bush, Michael
    Tomlinson, LaDainian
    Hightower, Tim (who I took)
    McFadden, Darren
    Brown, Donald
    Maroney, Laurence (who I took)
    Jones, Thomas
    Huggins, Kareem
    Snelling, Jason
    Taylor, Chester
    Slaton, Steve
    McGahee, Willis
    Scott, Bernard
    Hillis, Peyton
    Sproles, Darren
    Johnson, Larry
    Choice, Tashard

So, as you can see, my early picks of Manning, Gore, White, Fitz, Davis, and Jets (could have waited a round here, but they would have been gone...and this league gives bonuses for shutouts and points allowed) didn't leave me with much on the board as far as RBs. You could debate the Brown/Jacobs picks for some of the other guys that were there, but I don't think there was an obvious pick that I missed.
