If Sanchez continues to develop over the course of this season we might finally see an offer materialize that lets Schotty move on. I don't see any scenario in which the Jets offense matures that doesn't have Schotty finally getting his head-coaching offer from a non-terribad team. Hell, they may want him in San Diego if AJ Smith gets moved out of the GM spot. Norv Turner doesn't have any job security right now and AJ Smith is going to have trouble surviving a mediocre season also.
If Sanchez has a big year I can see Jacksonville and San Fran giving Schotty a call. The one thing I fear is he takes Callahan with him, but not if we promote the man or pay him more to keep him here.
Thanks I was actually of a supporter of he should NEVER had been hired just like I was anti Herm & was against that hiring also
e) None of the above To me it was just one game. there was still 15 games left And i also had this funny feeling that we would lose the first game, and everyone would come out and say that we're overrated, then go on a long winning streak So far we got 2 in a row. Let's hope they keep coming
None of the above. I was critical of Sanchez and refused to believe Schotty had told him to check down after half a second. I think my version of things was pretty close to being right.
This pretty much sums up my stance on this issue as well. This is the second year running that Schotty had to cut all that bullshit moving around stuff out so that the players can actually execute the offense. Every freaking year, we go thru this shit with Schotty and its old. Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is insanity so why does Schotty do this shit again and again only to stop and watch his system take off when simplified..??? Yep, choice B all day long for me..
At this point, losing to the Ravens week one could be the best thing that could have happened to this team. The offense looked terrible, and it was reflected in the stat line. Maybe it woke Schotty up...maybe Rex lit him up. All I know is that Sanchez & Co. have looked good since. I hope they can hold it together while the defense gets it's shit together.
He'd probably jump at either of those. There's no salary cap on coaches and Woody has never been cheap with the talent, even in the Mangini era when he had only wet behind the ears types and a few retreads running the team, except of course for Westhoff.
If he gets offered offensive coordinator here he won't go anywhere. Established QB, good roster, easy to work with HC, etc.
Same for me ... I wasn't worried about any of that. I loved the talent on this team coming out of the preseason, and one loss didn't change that for me at all. Honestly, I thought all the panic after the first game was totally ridiculous. Either you have guys on your team who can play ... or you don't. We're loaded this year. The only two concerns I have are ... (1) Can Shonn Greene carry the same load that TJ carried for us? (2) Can Slauson PLEASE not get Sanchez killed??!!!
A and B. I was so choked after that game I couldn't rationally analyze what happened out there until days later.
schotty definitely deserves to be a head coach in the NFL. and the answer is definitely NONE OF THE ABOVE as proven by Sanchez' spectacular performances in weeks 2 and 3 leading the Jets to FIRST PLACE and a 2-0 Division record 3-0 after Sunday
I was fusrtared but it was just one game and the way I looked at it we played as poorly as we could and we still only lost by 1 pt to a good team. I was really frustrated w/ the play of the D and the offensive gameplan but it was just one game. After that loss though I was hopeful for a 2-2 start but now that we are 2-1 and playing a team we should beat we need to be 3-1.
b) which I think is still a major question mark if this guy can help take us to a Superbowl and win it. He's 2/3 in game so far, so hopefully the other guys on the team will make Schotty look a lot better than he is this season.
