I read something about this a few days ago, that Rex was curious to see what he could use his speed for.

BB did it so Rex can certainly do this. How crazy would that be if the turns out to be the best corner drafted. lol

I agree. What the hell does Westerman know about playing cornerbacks anyways?

Well, since he seems to have a magnetic-like repulsion to a football, CB just might be his natural position.

I think it's funny when Rex jokes around a bit and people take it to far. He may have NFL CB athleticism, but he's so behind the ball in playing that position that he'd never be able to do it. His ability to play RB/PR far outweighs trying to learn CB on the fly at the NFL level.

I mean, Sanchez possibly has the best hands on the team. Is he going to switch positions to WR (and no Wildcat plays don't count).

LOL. Ok, I may be the pre-eminent McKnight apologist, but this cracked me up.

As far as I can tell, they're just working him in at CB on the scout team. I'm guessing it's primarily to help with numbers. No one's expecting him to be a nickel or dime back. At best, he'd be an emergency backup and would likely never see the field at the position.

If you recall, most of Troy Brown's time at CB came after heavy injuries to the Pats' secondary. McKnight's primary contributions will come on ST and offense.

Oh I'm not saying you or everyone, but of course people always take it to the extreme. Just pointing out how silly that is.

Of course. I don't disagree, I'm just more used to seeing it on the other side, what with all of the "CUT HIM" comments prior to the season. I don't think anyone's really picturing a future with McKnight as a starting corner. At least I HOPE no one is predicting that.

The Jets had a WR in the 80s named Bobby Humphrey who switched to CB and actually played the position pretty well for a couple of years. Switched his number from 84 to 48. Same deal, great athlete who couldn't crack the lineup with Walker and Toon around so they made him a CB and it at least got him on the field for a while.

Humphrey couldn't catch a cold. Lots of speed though, he also was a pretty decent return guy, correct? perfect candidate for the switch.
