Haha yep I absolutely agree with you...it's pretty amusing how so many are trying to pass themselves off as experts on hamstring injuries..because they have felt a tight hamstring at some stage in their life. I would say 'it's clear' that none of us know Revis' exact medical prognosis and recovery time! other favourites to make it seem like you know what you're talking about are: 'it's just a fact' and 'everyone knows...'
I've been wondering when Revis was coming back and getting pretty disappointed at each delay. Often times I'll think about posting about my displeasure, then I realize what a moron I'd look like since I'm not a doctor and never had a hamstring injury. Then I don't post.
I hate to say this, but I just really have a bad feeling about Revis this year. I just feel like I don't have the same 100% trust in him like I did last year. Ugh... I'm nervous for Monday.
It did end on a TD, but it took an exceptional grab by moss to get that score. almost any other receiver in the league would not have made that catch. It took an all time great grab by moss to beat revis on that particular play. While something similar could conceivably happen again Monday night, i seriously doubt it....
Agree with changing this thread title. I got sick thinking he aggravated the hammy. If he feels anything, the slightest twinge, he needs to consider the big picture and sit. Nevermind the fact that Moss is suiting up for MIN now...Championship!!!
I play it safe and sit Revis this week and next week and then with the bye he has 4 weeks to make sure that his hammy is completely healed. The media is overhyping this Minny game because of Moss. Their O line is still suspect and Favre doesn't look anything like the QB from last year. Of course he'll have his deep shots to Moss but we'll manage fine without Revis and still get the W I believe. I'm more concerned about the rest of the season and stretch run and playoffs and that's when I really want Revis at 100%.
Agreed with Jetsnation06. Ignore the media BS. Let Revis heal properly and if anything, err on the side of caution. Cro can adeptly cover Moss and I really think Favre will be under tremendous pressure all day, not allowing many deep routes to pan out.
if he's 100% he should play... if he isn't he should start on the bench... if things start to go bad he should get in come the 2nd half... otherwise sit him the whole match. I think we can put enough pressure on Favre to make him less effective... my problem is AP.
I third that. Definitely be cautious about Revis, if he's limited only then that's fine. Let's not get carried away with how much we need him for this game. We've been good in the secondary for 1.5 out of 2.5 games without him. A consistently injury free Revis down the stretch is what we're looking for. Cromartie as our number 2 guy? seems unfair
hammy injuries are tricky. Just got through one myself, but i'm over 40 and injured mine pretty badly 3 weeks ago. it feels 100% now just walking, but I imagine if i ran it would pull again. So I can see Revis being careful, I just hope he''s not turning into the Carlos Beltran of football who won't take the field unless he's 100% pain free. I also hope it's not because he's afraid of getting his huge ego hurt by getting burned by Moss again, a victim of his own mouth.
Way too early to compare him with Beltran. He is a tough guy and will fight through most injuries. Beltron dogs it and sits out year after year. I don't think Revis is like that at all.
No. Too many what ifs here, with resulting nervousness. I hear he has been practicing. Unless he strains the hammy in practice I think he will almost certainly play.
From Rototimes (Sorry, can't post links yet) My view...as important as he is, I'd choose a 100% healthy revis for the remaining games than to have him reinjure himself coming back too soon.
