We need a NT who can occupy multiple blockers in a pass rush. Pohua can cover the run like a beast but you can one-on-one the guy on passing downs all day. I'll be upset if we don't go NT high next year.

That being said: J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!

I don't know who was to blame for that disaster at the 2 minute mark of the 4th quarter, but that was absolutely inexcusable.

I think Pouha's good. I agree d-line needs to be addressed, but I like going to war with him next year also as long as he stays healthy.

I agree, need an interior rush badly.

The pass rush as been slightly improved, but the Jets need a young stud rusher who can kick ass.

Good point, I posted this in another thread.. but the Jets pass rush was much worse last year after Jenkins got hurt, and we are seeing that again this year. Without him taking up 2-3 blockers himself, everyone else is slightly less effective. Need Pace and Taylor to really step it up in regular 4 or 5 man rushes. And need a d-lineman other than Ellis to push the pocket.. hopefully Trevor Pryce can give us something, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for that..

D-line is a priority for this draft. someone will have to hide the corners on the draft board from Rex

I love Rex but I'm sorry the blitzing on 3rd and long has got to stop.

It is just flat out retarded and never works.

Pass was DEFINITELY the right call, Sanchez just snapped it too quick. First down there and game is over.

Most teams take their NTs out on passing downs and go with all ends and OLBs. The pass rushing problems has nothing to do w/ our NT and everything to do with the fact that we don't have a very good pass rushers.

He's a 2-down NT with 0 pass rushing moves who is going to turn 32 in February. He's been a worker since he's been on the tam and he performed admirably at worst last season but we need someone else to bring into this defense.

If he completed that pass you would have thought it was a great play. Going for the first down and the game being over is the aggressive move that Rex loves so you cant be surprised.

ill take a 9 point win in a downpour lightning storm against a good team anyday, but this game shouldnt have been close. we dominated all around the entire 1st half and should have been up by more.

one moment stands out specifically: i think it was 6-0, sanchez threw a beautiful pass between two defenders to braylon for a first down. next play: wildcat!!!!!! what the fuck? when your quarterback is making throws, you let him go with his rhythm hoping that it carries the offense, no??! wildcat is a change of pace/confuse the defense/matchup problem; not the god damn play when your young qb is in the middle of doing what you drafted him for.

i know its never gonna be perfect and hell i'm gonna be happy about any win, but these things are going to fuck everyone in the ass if we expect to be considered among the best teams in the league. schotty and co need to be told: this is a good team, dont fuck with it.

Calvin Pace had 8 sacks in 12 games last year.

Jason Taylor leads the league in career sacks among active players.

Trevor Pryce has 90 career sacks.

    Try again later.

Good point. I'm sure when the pass play was called, the coaches assumed Sanchez had enough common sense to take the clock down to 2:03-2:04 ... Sanchez showed extremely poor clock management on that play.

If you want to shift the blame then coaching staff can be blamed for assuming Sanchez knew what to do & not explicitly telling him to run the play-clock down. Personally, I think Sanchez shouldn't need to be told something so simple.

Jets don't have Bruce Smith type lineman but they've got some decent passrushers. Taylor from Dolphins is playing now in passing situations.

    Over this season:
Pace will be healthy enough to play like last season & gives Jets one more pass rusher. Pryce (recently acquired from Ravens) should be able to adapt to new team & provide good pass rush also.

Pryce & Taylor aren't every down defenders but there's no team out there that's going to trade a lineman who is effective for all downs & can consistently pass rush.

Sanchez was, he had the ball hiked to early, if he waited for the play clock to go down to 2 seconds that play would have went into the 2 minute warning.
