I was reading that Nike is replacing Reebok in 2012 as the official uniform supplier of the NFL and that Nike plans to make "significant" changes to the construction of the jerseys (much like they did with college football). Could there be a big sale of the leftover Reebok jerseys coming next year? Just a thought if anyone was thinking about purchasing a new jersey anytime soon. Pro Combat jerseys?? Eh...
Mods please change name to "Buying a SOJ jersey" and I believe it would fit right in. My apologies if I posted this in wrong forum.
It can be related to the Jets forum. The Jets shop is 100% Reebok gear. By 2012 it will be Nike. If you wanted a jersey now though, I would still get it. Not like 2012 is tomorrow. There is still 11 weeks in this season and a whole 2011 season to come.
Slightly off topic but i cant make threads I was wondering if any of you knew what number Rex Ryan was when he played (I think his highest level was college but i could be mistaken). I want to get a custom jersey that says Rex Ryan on it. That man has completely changed the Jets around and I will appreciate his contributions even after he one day leaves.
Hah. Yeah my bad I had a brain fart. I have been thinking about how to find that for like 2 weeks now..... I feel dumb, and I should.
I was wondering about this yesterday when I was at a Reebok outlet. I bought a couple Jets shirts at 50% off and saw jerseys were 50% off during the season, so I asked the guy why? He reminded me Nike takes over in 2012. Anyone know how much they will change the look of each team's jersey yet?
Nobody really knows what changes will be made. Probably they won't be very significant changes to the style, if any really. I suspect that the Reebok jerseys will drop in price slightly, but not that much. For reference, just look how much they still sell obsolete jerseys for right now. I was in the mall yesterday and this store was selling obsolete jerseys like a Jets #20 Thomas Jones for $40. That's from 2009!
