As long as he makes us a better team, gives us his all and helps us win games then he's fine by me. Taylor is a gamer with a nonstop motor out and plays through pain.
To be politically correct I'm sure there will be no mention of Jason Taylor's role in the Monday night Miracle mentioned during the ceremony on Monday night. Why piss the guy off.
well, he's already sacked Brady and Henne........ let's hope he crushes Favre and makes it a trifecta!
Of course hes uneasy when questioned about a team we hate, in a game that meant so much to us and that he was a big part of. The fella has moved on, its time others did too
The older I get, the more I am starting to listen to my gut feelings, and my gut feeling about this game (and its a strong one) is that It will be the end of favre's career, courtesy of our defense.
that would cetainly be some poetic justice to an extent........moreso if it happened against Green Bay, but I'll take this scenario
If I'm Rex Ryan: I've made the presser about all the respect , HOFer etc... etc... Now go out, play the game and disrespect the hell out of him. Nearly every player thats talked about this game have all made the same comment, hes going to stay in the pocket and how immobile he is. This I believe is going to be a huge part to their lack of any passing attack on Monday. OK they got Moss, but whats the use if Bretts flat on his back on the golf cart? Brett is going home in an ambulance.......if hes lucky
Re: Taylor - He's no doubt annoyed with the fish FO for letting him go. I have to believe he wanted to stay there until he felt it was time to go, so there's that. I always respected his level of play. You had to. And I do think alot of the back and forth with Jet fans and what he said about them was mostly just smack. I doubt there was any real hatred. Did I hate him? I wouldn't say hate him. I hated the fish as an organization, and hate their crap fans. But I never hated, like Marino, or Zach Taylor. Having said that, Taylor coming to the Jets is basically a mercenary move. He probably likes that he's playing in the same division as the fish. He probably is not much of a fan of NE, either, and he wasn't going to the Bills, imo. So he probably saw some percentage in going to the Jets. He probably also thought the Jet fans would start rooting for him when he produced. And was confident he would. And I hope he continues to contribute. Does that mean I like him, as a fan? Nope. Not him. I hope that all makes sense.
Sorry to revive this thread but I've just watched Monday Night Miracle extra in the History of NYJ DVD. Taylor is all over it getting riled about the cat calls, putting down the fans leaving and generally being an all around asshat. Keeps saying I'm gonna get there and at the end just collapses to the field with his head in his hands. Lots of reasons for hating but his intensity was awesome
I was over hating Jason Taylor when he sacked Brady. Imagine the love Jets fans would have for him if he sacked McCoy in the endzone in OT. Game winning safety.
