Bleh, you're right. edit: Here is the Jarron Gilbert source: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2010/11/jets_waive_defensive_lineman_j.html
Maybe Turner can 'turn' things around for himself. Perhaps, we have to unleash the secret weapon a few weeks earlier than expected?
He was on our PS and nobody snatched him up... I hope he makes it too... 'cause I have a feeling he'll be back on the active roster once Cotchery heals...
i want this Pat Turner guy to do well... but has he caught a pass yet for this team? Do you guys think he wil catch a pass this game? Do you think he will catch a pass this season? If anything the Texans should be a good test for him
It is but never the less WR is one of the most difficult positions for young players to master. The Jets are going out of their way to hide Cumberland. They are keeping him on the regular roster, which at the very least costs 3-4x's more than the PS. You watched Hard Knocks, if they think a player is marginal they are ruthless about the money. From anecdotal evidence they really like Cumberland.
Agreed, they are essentially redshirting him for this year, in the same manner as vlad. Its obvious when the Jets need a TE other than DK right now, they need a solid blocker, which Cumberland just is not at this stage of his career. Next year, I expect we will see him be active much more frequently. He will have a year of working with Callahan to improve his blocking and he will have a year in the system to develop into a better player. But should anything happen to DK, I would put money on Cumberland not only being active, but playing Kellers role and doing somewhat serviceably.
