there right but i think are offensive gains outweigh the step back on defense sanchez has won games this yr whereas last yr sanchez was nothing more then a average game manager
Harrison may be right but coming from him it's garbage because we all know he hates the Jets. He's biased against us so why should I care what this dirty cheating fuck has to say?
This whole "luck" thing really bothers me with the media. I understand that the team has gotten a lot of breaks, but it seems like some of them want the Jets to apologize for winning these games the way they do. What I don't understand is where these same guys were when the Pats were making their Superbowl runs years ago? From what I recall, the Pats played a ton of tight games with a lot of lucky breaks along the way. It is just the nature of the game. I just don't get why NOW its a big deal when this team is doing exactly the same thing they never called those Pats teams on.
Nothing to do with luck. Jets can and need to play alot better, especially defensively. But, Sanchez and Holmes are making huge plays to win games, thats not luck
We do have a major weakness, the lack of any kind of pass rush. We were able to coach around that last year but not this year.
Also, if this team is going to continue to be given the whole "lucky" label by the media for everything they've been doing and begging them to give the wins back...I want that Giants Superbowl trophy back. Just saying...fair is fair.
Freaking Patriots have made a living out of winning close games, but nobody says they are lucky. They got lucky today, horrible pass by Peyton at the end
I was thinking the same thing. Why is it that when the Jets make a big play it is labeled as luck, but for other teams they call it clutch? Once, maybe it is luck. Every week since Denver, this is a team finding ways to win, no luck involved.
Winning teams win games. The Jets won the game fair and square. Having good luck in football is mostly the result of consistent hard work and being in position to take advantage of positive developments in the game. The Jets are 8-2 because they are one of the better teams in the NFL.
Rex also should stop saying "I'm not apologizing for this win" It's now 4 games in a row when he said that in the post game. It just gives fuel to idiots like Fatcesa who the other day said Rex is frustrated that everyone says the jets are getting lucky.
LMAO @ anyone claiming the Jets were "lucky" to win today. We blew a 23-7 lead. We allowed Houston to score 17 unanswered points in less than a quarter and a half. And Then, our young, promising quarterback drove us 75+ yards in less than 50 seconds to win the game. On that game-winning drive, he made two picture-perfect throws to two game-breaking WRs. We won fair and square.
We really need to start playing up to our capabilities, though. This "playing down to our competition" crap is starting to get old.
Damn straight. Sanchez has ice in his veins. "Tone Time" has officially become my favorite time of the week. And I can't wait to see how we beat Cincinnati on Turkey Day!
I will say that it is encouraging to see the fact that lately, the Jets seem to have their blunders lately in short spurts. What I mean by that is that they had essentially beat the Browns and the Texans, then screwed it up and only then to come back in win. They just gotta focus on the little part where they opened the door for the other team. Its not like they getting manhandled in games. The team just has these lapses that I think Rex can fix this season.
Actually, if we compare this defense, with last year's defense in terms of points allowed, up to this week, the jets have allowed fewer points this year. Sometimes it doesn't look good but it's working.
Luck=what the Jags did to the Texans. Playing up to your talent level= what happened on that last drive. Halftime of the evening game (eagles-giants) was a pretty good analysis on the Jets. They've won close games, had clutch players and have taken advantage of the situations they're in. Big deal. And every team needs luck AND skill to win. Bottom line. If we beat the Bengals and head in to Foxboro at 9-2 to face a (likely) 9-2 Pats and lose, then everyone can pile on and say that the Jets are frauds and loud mouth and Brady and Belichick just win, blah blah blah. We'll finish 5th probably and go on the road where we're 5-0 so far. If we win, then everyone has to STFU.
