    Something not many of you will want to talk about but still...

    NY Jets (9-4 --- 3-2 div --- 7-3 conf) -> Steelers, Bears, Bills

    MIA Dolphins (7-6 --- 2-2 div --- 5-5 conf) -> Bills, Lions, Patriots

    JV Jaguars (8-5 --- 3-1 div --- 7-3 conf) -> Colts, Redskins, Houston

    IND Colts (7-6 --- 2-2 div --- 5-4 conf) -> Jaguars, Raiders, Titans

    SD Chargers (7-6 --- 2-3 div --- 6-4 conf) -> 49ers, Bengals, Broncos

    KC Chiefs (8-5 --- 2-3 div --- 5-5 conf) -> Rams, Titans, Raiders

    If we beat either the Bears or the Steelers and finish 10-6 there's still too much math. Especially if we win just vs the Bears and the Dolphins win out I don't know what happens for 2nd place.

    If we beat the Bills (finishing at 10-6):

    - and the Jags beat the Colts we are in (if anyone beats the Colts really).

    If we lose to the Bills we are not worthy of a playoff spot.

    At 11-5 we're safe of making the playoffs no matter who we beat.

    THE ESSENCE IS ROOT FOR THE JAGUARS VS THE COLTS AND FOR SD TO EITHER LOSE A GAME OR WIN THE DIVISION.

    So wait, a win against the Steelers and/or Bears, and help from other teams, doesn't get us a playoff berth? We have to wait until the Bills game?

    If we win two of the next three we clinch no matter what other teams do >_>

    Thanks Mambo,

    It's just a Damn shame we have to start looking at others to lose for us to make the playoffs.

    The Jets were a Super Bowl team, according to Rex. Super Bowl teams don't lose games in December.

    Of course if we finish at 11-5 we're in... but... if we finish 10-6 yeah we have to start doing some math.

    +1

    This team is so overrated it's ridiculous....and we are all guilty of buying into the hype.

    It means nothing. SD and Indy will now win their divisions. We are never winning there.

    Welcome... that said I'm not even thinking about the SB right now... just about the play-offs to give Sanchez some experience.

    I did some math and basically if we beat the Bills we are in the playoffs.

    We could even clinch by losing our next 3. We would just need a loss from the Jaguars and Chargers or something along those lines.

    What happens if the Colts win out? We'd have (assuming we beat the Bills & finish 10-6) the same conf & div records....

    We should make the playoffs, let's hope we can turn this around.

    I love Rex and want him to be our coach for a long time, but all of the Super Bowl Bravado and talk and this mini collapse makes him look very bad.

    Division record does not matter at all as a tie breaker except against the Dolphins.

    The scenarios, if the Jets go 10-6, are as follows:

    1. If the Jets beat the Steelers, and the dolphins lose at any point, the Jets clinch.

    2. If the Jets beat the Bears, the Jets need a lose from the Colts, Dolphins, and Chargers to clinch.

    3. If the Jets beat the Bills, and the Chiefs lose at any point, the Jets clinch.

    if the Colts win out they win their division so that has nothing to do with the Jets anymore

    If the Colts win out, the Jags lose to the Colts and then win out and we beat the Bills we all have the same conf record & Jags and Colts have same conf and div record.

    YOu sure the Colts win the division with the same record, div record and conf record as the Jags?

    This team doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs. If we actually make it that far, do you seriously think that we make it past the WC?
    No chance in hell...
