It could be WAY worse. For starters there's an extremely good chance we'll still make the playoffs. IF that happens we'll likely play either Jacksonville or KC in the first round. There were certainly worse years to be a wildcard team.
I swear if we lose to Steelers and Bears and lose control of our destiny, I will be in the shittiest moods ever.
I've been in the shittiest mood ever since 7pm Sunday. Just think... All we had to do is beat the fucking dolphins...at home.
The Jags game was COLD and we were so pumped in that stadium during the game. We buried Brunell in the AstroTurf big time. 1998 up until Denver was awesome. Testeforty FTW!!!
It goes something like this My worst case senario The Patriots having locked up the #1 seed. And the Jets need The Patriots to beat Miami in the last game, for the Jets to make the wildcard birth. Ya know the Patriots will be resting players etc... = Miami in - Jets out...
I hear ya man. I went to Miami and watched us romp the fish at their place that year, alsne of the most memorable seasons for me for sure.
It was an impressive display of football. We are getting to that point. Everyone just needs to relax and realize that we have a 2nd year QB and a 2nd year coach.
bwahaha...... it's fucked up, but made me laugh. After all these years they've made me even more demented...... :breakdance: :jets:
I was thinking the Pats might do that, but it's not what Tom and BB do. If they do we still control our own destiny, win 2 and we're in. Like mentioned above, if it does come down to that it was meant to be anyway. What kind of fan are you, team wise? I don't remember, since these past 2 games all the trolls that were gone all year have come back in droves.
Chad Cascadden for the win. I agree. My point is that year we weren't counting conference wins or common opponents, we just beat everyone. Even after wrapping up the bye we had one more for good measure. No watching Miami, etc with baited breath, even the first weekend of the playoffs just sat back and watched everyone else fight it out.
Good analysis, god this is awful and I hope it doesn't come to this. Yeah, a TB with Jax and SD does put us in trouble. From what I've seen, SoV is the winning percentage of the teams you beat. So I think that SD might have us on that.
I'd like to think the Jets could beat Pitt or Chicago and earn their way into the playoffs. A week 17 win vs buf to squeak in after nearly collapsing isn't exactly ideal. You also know we're gonna hear how we have one quality win all season in week 2 vs the pats. It's true though which is why we need to win one of the next 2.
great research, I have been saying for months now that the bills game is a good one to have in the back pocket just in case.
I so agree with this. God that was great. What did we win like our last 7 games??? And I think that the final game was a 31-0 butt whipping of New England.
That would be bad. But the Jets don't need the Pats to beat Miami, do they? If we beat the Bills, the Dolphins' chances at making the playoffs is nada even if Miami wins their final 3 games (which they won't). Both teams' records would be 10-6, but we'd win the tie breaker due to a better conference record.
Too many what if's... since leading the league in wins went out the front door then I guess plan B is to get in the back door and kick some ass on the road?
