But the winner of that one gets to play this one at home.

LT said after the game in New England they were talking and LT said to them "We'll be back I promise."

I'm hoping we have a great game just so LT can wave his finger at the Pats player

We can't get away from ground&pound

Because without the embarassment, the Jets would only have put in 92.76% effort in to preparing for the game. And the Patriots, without all the Jets trash-talking wouldn probably not have even remembered to show up.

They better win. It will be fucking embarrassing if they don't. Man, this team better be prepared, especially Sanchez. I hope Brady gets planted. It'll teach that fuck a thing or two about what this defense really is. God, I can't wait. We have to win. If we don't, it'll just prove that this team are just a bunch a losers...again.

The chatting favors the pats for BB won't say anything but it is personal and the teams aren't equal as a team. First two scores and turnovers decide if the game is going to be close. Lots of fun having a rivalry

That's the sad thing about Rex for Jets already have had a great season to be proud of but lost this one and he makes the hard working team look like fools.
And Rex talks out of his butt. He has no knowledge if Brady or Manning study harder. Brady has three rings and could have had more. Manning walked to the 06 champshionship behind the NFL and refs.

All the bs about Sanchez. Sure he goes on cold spells and plays so so many times but Sanchez is in his second year, two years in the playoffs and playing on the biggest stage in NY. Pretty good start if you ask me.

I disagree with all of this. These guys all know each other, Rex explained specifically what he was referring to regarding their study habits today in his press conference.

Regarding the expectations, I'm glad Rex has raised the bar for this franchise. In the past everyone would be content with where we are, patting themselves on the back for being better than other Jet teams and waiting for the ride to end against a better team. Rex isn't having that, the goal is the Super Bowl. You should understand that, that's the goal for your team because they've won it three times. That's what the goal should be. I'm a Devils fan, up until this year that was the goal there too, as it should be if you consider yourself a top team and really think you have a chance to win it all.

Interesting premise to a thread. I can't say that score was a favor. I don't think getting publically flogged did any favors for the Jets.

It is weird that the rhetoric out of Rex is about the same as it was a month ago. I can't see the Jets coming out and laying an egg like last game. Is that a function of lessons learned, Bellichick showing his cards/doing the Jets a favor, professional pride....... I would think it is a mix @ this point.

Again, not so much the score or any kind of motivational thing. Rex said flat out yesterday that there's no such thing as running up the score, your job is to stop them. By "favor" I'm just referring to putting all their best stuff on film--at the time to bring the hammer down and finish off the Jets, but the way it's played out has given Rex a wealth of information. He said yesterday that he's looked at that film every day since.

Lets not gloss over the fact that Leonhard was lost just prior to the game.

I think the Pats come in a wee overconfident.

    I hope so.

Regarding Leonhard, that was a blow with the timing but it's football. Losing him on the first play of the game wouldn't have been much different, you have to play through it. We lost Brad Smith for much of the game the other night, he's as valuable as they come, you have to play without the guy.

Wow, I am sorry to hear that sad news.

My condolences on the passing of your grandmother, and I hope you and your grandfather are doing better.

I think the asskicking was a favor (maybe not directly by Belichick) because it has to have convinced Rex and Co. to burn that Defensive Gameplan. Had that gameplan remotely worked, they might have headed into this game with a simlar approach and mayhaps the beatdown would've occurred this week instead.

Defensively, Rex now knows exactly what will not work against the Pats O, so he knows what to avoid in gameplan, scheme, etc.

Exactly. He's been looking for his revenge ever since the Pats beat the Chargers in San Diego and did the Shawn Merriman convulsive sack dance in the middle of their field.

While I agree that the Jets shouldn't need any additional motivation this time, they shouldn't have needed any additional motivation last time when they got curb stomped.

Hopefully they continue the game plan from the 2nd half of the Colts game.
