ugh, i hate this cro sucks crap. he's the 2nd alternate in a loaded AFC pro bowl squad that only lets in 3 CB's. a lot of coaches and players seem to think he's the 5th best corner in the AFC (behind Revis, Asomugha, McCourty and Bailey). The NFC slate is pretty bad (Woodson, Samuel, Hall) Bailey made it on rep and McCourty, Samuel and Hall made it on numbers (7+ ints), so I don't think it's a stretch to say he's one of the best CB's in the league. every corner not named Revis or Asomugha gets beat a couple times a game. case in point... if you guys remember the Packers/Eagles game last night, Samuel got beat a few times:

    * On both TD in the first half, he abandoned his zone or peaked behind him to let in the TD.
    * Near the end of the half, he got beat on pretty much the same play as Cro got beat on, except Jennings dropped the ball. It easily would have been a 60+ yard TD if he caught it.

Charles Woodson looked like he got beat on one of the TD's as well.

These are pro bowl corners! They get beat a few times a game. Let's contrast that to what Cro did Saturday:

He mainly covered Garcon who had 5 catches. 2 of them were plays where he lined up in the slot, so it was really 3 catches vs Cro. He got beat once and had very soft coverage on a 21 yarder. Both times, he lined up 10 yards off the LOS. I noticed that earlier, he was lining up there and then running up at the last second before the snap to bump Garcon, so the tactic might have been one of Rex's disguised coverages, inviting Peyton to throw towards Garcon. Each time, I think he got caught on an early snap count and wasn't in position (which is probably what Rex was yelling at him about).

There is no shame in getting beat by Peyton Manning. He's a HOF QB. What he did yesterday wasn't anywhere near as bad as Samuel's performance against an inferior Aaron Rodgers.

What we SHOULD be worrying about are our nickel/dime CB's who get beat much more regularly. So please stop this Cro-hating.

    Re-watch the play...it was a critical one.

My bitching about Cromartie has more to do with him not playing up to his potential, not about his talent. I've watched him play in person in San Diego and I filmed him on field in a sponsorship video when he was a Charger...the guy has got all the physical tools to be a beast at his position.

That's why his play drives me so nuts...cause I know what he's capable of.
He's done it in the recent past, so something is wrong. Head, heart & body...can't get by on just one.

Everyone excpects Cromartie to be as good as Revis, he's not.

But if you ask me, I think he did a pretty good job against Garcon. Garcon is really the hardest matcup for Cromartie that you can find in the league. Hes not the biggest guy, but is speedy and can run quick slants and can confuse you.

I mean Cromartie shut down Moss completely, its just matchup problems. Add the fact we don't get any pressure on the QB so he has to cover much longer than most CB do in the NFL.

That play was a conglomerate of errors.........

Coleman was supposed to jam on the line and let him by, then Cromartie let him get past him, and Poole was late in addition he took a bad angle. 3 DB's were awful on that one play.

Well yeah...if Gholston was elected to a Pro Bowl and had nine kids.

On a good note, in the '07 AFC Championship game, Cro did intercept Brady.
Maybe he can do it again Sunday.

Coleman was on the other side of the field, on Blair White. And Garcon never got past Cromartie. He never had to. Cro immediately turned and ran upfield at the snap, letting Garcon slant in and make the catch at the 1st down marker.

Pool was way out of position on the wrong side of the field.
He paid for his foolishness by getting absolutely leveled by Reggie Wayne.

The TD play? Coleman put a hand on Garcon and let him by, Garcon flew by Cromatie, Peyton hit him in stride and Pool took a bad angle after not getting there in time.

You are talking a totally different play.

Yes I am. I'm addressing the 3rd & 8 at 6:35 in the 4th that led to the FG that made it 14-13. Stop that conversion and they punt or try a 55 yarder.

Ok I remember it being a slant. I haven't re-watched that particular play. I will take you word on it. I will re watch it tomorrow.
