So after looking back at the ESPN gamecast and remembering the game I decided to write this to see if anyone agreed with me.

    http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/playbyplay?gameId=301206017

Check this out, the Jets held New England to a field goal on their first possession and on the second possession missed their own field goal setting up New England on the 43 yard line (To good of field position to give them in my opinion). The next drive the Jets went 3 and out and got a 12 yard punt giving the Pats another great starting point and by that point the game was over. The next thing I noticed was that after Sanchez threw the interception in the red zone to start the 3rd quarter the defense gave up so the last 21 points were meaningless in my opinon.

Many of you are going to say thanks for pointing out the obvious but I believe the most important part of the game is field position. If you go back to that game and start us on the 43 and the 44 and I bet the game was completely different. So we need to make sure that we do not give them anything remotely close to good field position and set the tone in the first quarter and I think that if we do we win the game.

The game became bull shit to us after that sanchez INT. Though that missed FG and then the Shanked Punt that gave them the Easy TD in reality was the Knock out blow.

Yeah Brady had short fields and no one showed up that day.

They'll show up Sunday, but they need a damn perfect game to beat the Pats.

I watched the first half again yesterday and here were the problems:

    1. The defense played ok. There was the Branch TD on 4th and 3 and the pass interference on Eric Smith that set up another one. Other than those two plays, I think the defense reasonably could have given up 10 points in the first half. Not awesome, but not terrible, either.

    2. The offense played bad. I've noticed that games where our receivers drop 2 or more passes, we ALWAYS seem to lose. Santonio dropped a couple and so did Braylon. Sanchez seemed to get confused by their zone defense.

    3. The special teams did us in. A missed FG from 53 yards, I can understand. The 12 yard shank, I cannot.

    4. Just about everything broke right for the Pats. Other than their own FG miss, they kept making these plays out of nowhere. They gambled on 4th and 3 (if they fail, I think we get the momentum back). A bunch of 3rd downs should have been stopped, but they just made it.

21-3 at the half could easily have been 14-10. Pundits are just looking at the score, not the actual plays.

    Yup.

We have to run consistently and often.

Sanchez can't miss the open throws he gets (like he did last week).

Taylor and Pace have to get to Brady.

And special teams has to play like they have the other 16 games this year and forget that 2nd Pats game. If Weatherford plays like he has of late, we can pin Brady deep.

That first missed field goal is an excellent point. I believe it was a 53 yarder and Folk had been erractic preceding the game. When we didn't convert on 3rd down, my initial reaction was to give Brady a long field and punt the ball. That really started the ball rolling against us.

Those were key plays, we let the game get away from us early and it took us out of our game plan.

jets came out in alot of shotgun sets too

they got away from their offense

ground and pound and short passes to keller to move the chains

jets are at their best when there running 15 play 8 minute drives

That´s last season, not week 2. Damn Rex was FAT, and it probably was the last great game Leon Washington gave us before his horrible injury. He was great besides the fumble.

Regardless 45-3 is farther from reality that the media and the Patriots want to let on. The Jets are a punt and a made field goal as well as a better offensive gameplan away from making it a game.

You're right, and that's why the Patriots are considered 9 points better, not 42 (technically 6 points better if you include home field, but more or less a touchdown better than the Jets overall).

the offense game plan was dog shit.

we started the game in hurry up so our offense could get off the field and watch brady destroy us. lets hope we learned from that mistake.
