my point was that with rex being the defensive genius that he is, I couldn't believe (nor could the fanbase at the time) that he thought Torry Holt was more of a threat than Simms-Walker who was lighting it up the first half of that season, while torry holt was all but non-existent in their offense all year. I trust rex because he is a defensive genius, and love the guy for what he has done for us, but that doesn't mean he never made any mistakes as our coach.
I think Simms Walker is a real good WR who played with a soso QB on a run first team------------If we lose either of our WR I would not mind taking a serious look at Walker--------but I won't lie if we do Lose Holmes or Edwards although it pains me to say it I would take a look at OCHO JOHNSON--------ugh that was hard to type
MSW is one of the most inconsistent receivers in the league today. Started hot in 2009 and ran super cold down the stretch, while he was very unreliable in 2010. It really seemed like Mike Thomas passed him up as the team's most reliable target while tight end Marcedes Lewis also stepped up huge. Needless to say, I don't see how getting another inconsistent receiver to replace the likely departing BA is progress. I say let BA walk and draft a guy to work his way into the rotation. In the meantime, Holmes and Cotch can hold it down and Keller can get more involved (as he should be, anyways). Besides, Sanchez still isn't ready to go off on anyone, regardless of his weapons. This is still a run first team, at least it will have to be if the SB is a real goal.
What makes the sign these guys threads different from your trade these guys threads? We can't do either one, including trading guys during the draft.
Braylon Edwards was arguably our most consistent receiver in 2010. If you watched the games you might have noticed that.
No, if read up Braylon, is getting his name changed to Adwards to hide from the DUI charge. Brilliant I say.
Injury risk, inconsistent and streaky, serious questions about his maturity, not one of the best route runners... Not a fan of him joining the Jets. Hopefully looking for alternatives won't even be necessary, given Braylon's made his feelings clear, combine that with the recent video this weekend of Holmes saying something about how "...as soon as I sign back with the Jets"... I hope that comment from him is a sign meaning Tanny is preparing to lock Holmes up as soon as the new CBA is cranked out, or that Holmes thinks they'll be able to work some kind of suitable contract out, because I can't lie, I worry about our ability to retain him, hearing him say stuff like that gives me added hope.
the only part of that trade that stung me. i saw plenty of him at clemson and considered him a total steal. hopefully he doesnt waste away in CLE
hed be a solid slot guy for us especially at the price we could get him at. prolly wont ever happen though.
I hope this new CBA comes with a $500 million cap, and a 150 man active roster. WE MUST SIGN EVERY FA!! Do it.... Do it!
