Who else has been watching OLD Jets games from their Jets library during this long, dull offseason? I just watched Richard Todd beat the Dolphins on a last second TD pass from the 1981 season. Even 30 years later, some of these games can really get those Jet juices flowing again!

I'm currently half way through the 1985 shellacking of the Bucs. O'Brien is absolutely on fire - boy, the future sure looks bright!

I was looking for a 2010 season highlights DVD, or all of Hard Knocks, but haven't come across either of them yet.

in SD Playoffs 2 years ago
    In INDY
    In NE
vs Texans collapse and comeback. I Stood til the end and have watched this one alot.

    The losses:
The Opening game vs RAVENS. I was there and watching this game has such a rollercoaster of emotion.
The Electricity was off the fukin meter especially after we destroyed Flacco on his 1st touch...then Shotty happened..ugh.

and the End in Pitt... ughhh...

When Cromartie picked off that pass (versus the Ravens) I thought he was taking it all the way back. I was convinced we had just won the game...

I've watched this game at least 5 times this offseason. Also stayed until the end, laughing at all the idiots on the big-screen wishing they hadn't left their seats once Mark hit Holmes for the winner.

I just don't have the time to watch games the way I used to. W/ 2 young kids it's tough. I have a huge collection but outside of the games from last year that I have DVR'd I don't get a chance to crack out my DVs/tapes too often but I don't think I will ever get tired of watching the Jets-Pats playoff games from January.

    yes.

That was the "revenge game" to make up for the Bucs' defense laying down and letting the Jets score late in the last game of the '84 season. They wanted to get the ball back so James Wilder could set the record for most carries in a season.

Actually, Wilder was going for something more meaningful than total number of rushing attempts.

The Jets played at Tampa Bay on December 16, 1984. Two days earlier, in a rare Friday game, the Rams closed their season in San Francisco. Eric Dickerson finished the season with 2244 scrimmage yards, which was a new record.

Late in the 4th quarter, the Bucs led the Jets 41-14. The Bucs defense appeared disinterested on the Jets final drive. James Wilder was within striking distance of Dickerson's record and they wanted him to get a few more cracks at breaking it. The Tampa Bay fans were in support. They booed when Mark Cotney tackled Johnny Hector at the 2-yard line with 56 seconds remaining. Hector scored on the following play without being touched. TB linebacker Scot Brantley said, "We tried to make it look inconspicuous, but I guess we didn't succeed."

The Jets onside-kicked, but the Bucs recovered. Wilder had three more carries. He lost two yards, gained two yards, and was stopped at the line. The Jets cursed out Bucs coach John McKay after the game. Joe Walton said it was "a total embarrassment to the NFL. It set it back 20 years." The Bucs were fined. McKay had announced his retirement prior to the game, so the Jets couldn't get back at him in 1985.

Wilder finished the season with 2229 scrimmage yards.
