Is there any evidence Favre's actually interested, particularly in a backup role? Maybe I'm underestimating his need for attention/being in the spotlight but I actually think his last retirement was serious, particularly with how hurt he was most of the year and how quickly he made the decision. Except that guys who sucked won't get invited back and guys who were good should have a lot of money banked already, they didn't get paid peanuts unlike the old-timers who actually needed this new CBA to help them.
There next to nothing in evidence that he wants to return, other than the Eagles rumors of this weekend, and if you want to get crazy, the time he was throwing with Cam Newton a few weeks ago. NFL.com has a headline that says something like: "Favre's agent says: He's retired"... I assume there's nothing more to that story that's not in the title. The interesting part of the Eagles story was that Vick tweeted last night about how great it would be to have Favre on the team to learn from him, but then he deleted it, making everyone wonder if he wasn't supposed to mention it. I can understand why the Eagles or any team would want him as a backup, but I don't think he'll be back. I look forward to Favre Watch 2012 if it ends here, though.
