It does not appear Braylon will get a big deal, Cromartie is probably the best defender out there and it doesn't appear anyone is beating his door down. I can't think of anyone who will get big money.
3 teams are pursuing Cro, Edwards biggest suitor appears to be Minnesota, The Jets may be able to get him for less if they try, I think Edwards likes NYC, Minneapolis probably is not his ideal city, although he might stay out of trouble ice fishing up there...
Some teams have money. Some players want to wait it out and let it play out a little longer, for whatever reason, maybe they aren't satisfied with the market in terms of number of offers or more likely the money involved, maybe they're waiting on certain teams to make offers, maybe they're hoping that holding out for a longer time will make them the last big FA at that position available and get some team will overpay them so they don't miss out entirely. The last position is where I see Cromartie.
Offer Cromartie and Braylon 1 year contracts - for decent money but 1 year either that or offer small signing bonus. I get the feeling that these are 2 possible players that would get a big contract and a big signing bonus and then not give their best effort. Apparently the rest of the NFL might and I say might also feel that way. They are very talented - but the key is to keep them highly motivated. One year contracts would do that but obviously they are looking for that big up front money. Hmmmm what to do?
