Turn on ESPN right now...Sanchez and Rex are going to come on the E:60 segment and it talks about the desire of Mark Sanchez to win a Super Bowl. Gonna be on up in the next 4 minutes
its on now...some good shit...Talking about being a captain and being able to take the pressure of being a NY QB
They are covering Jake Locker now...Damn, I can see why the Titans chose Locker so high He is Mr. Perfect as a person, the exact opposite of Vince Young lol
The segment on Freeman was pretty good. The segment on Sanchez was so-so. Therefore ESPN = Freeman > Sanchez
Wouldn't be surprised if ESPN starts polishing Freeman's knob as the next big thing...until he is exposed for his lack of a tough schedule last year (still think he'll be good).
Freeman had a great year, no doubt. 24 TD 4 INT or something. But lets get him some playoff wins before we can put him above GQ. The segment kept mentioning the 4th quarter comebacks by Freeman. Sanchez had some great ones last year too. I know that wasn't the focus of the Sanchez segment but it was worth mentioning.
I really wanna watch this, does anyone have a link? btw its not this one is it? youtube.com/watch?v=F_0IownqWEE
Nvm, luckily my Tivo recorded it, and it was a mix of the old one and the new one, regardless kinda mad they made Freeman out to be the best quarterback in the 09' class, he still hasn't done anything in my mind, aside from play well against horrid defenses
Tampa has a Big Boy schedule this year too, he'll be facing some NFL caliber defenses. Like his shitty performance against us. Headline was "Jets pick off Freeman three times in lopsided win" and expect to see much more of that.
Freeman has been very good, of course he started 24 college games, Sanchez started 10. I've been seeing a lot of Sanchez hate going into this season. People just look at the TD vs Int totals on the season and don't realize just how good Sanchez is when he has a good game. Sanchez played in 18 games last season, in 6 of those he had a QB rating over 100. Two of those were playoff games. His good games are solid and he showed a lot of improvement from his first season. His bad games are shit. He had two bad games on national TV (the pats blowout of the jets, and the week 1 Baltimore loss) which just stick in people's minds. I think Sanchez still has to up his game, but the fact is when he's on his A game he's a fine QB.
Sanchez has a higher career playoff QB rating (94.3) than Tom Brady (85.7), Ben Roethlisberger (84.5), or Peyton Manning (88.4). #factsthatdontmeanmuchbutarefactsnonetheless .
And he's beaten all 3, 2 of them in the playoffs. I still love hearing people yell about how he sucks. I immediately remove the possibility of them being intelligent once they say anything about Sanchez not being remotely good.
To add to that.... An 'average' QB rating is set at 66.7.....in 2010 Sanchez started 18 games, and had a QB rating 'above average' in 11 of them....had 3 right around average....and 4 that were well below average. Marks problem clearly isn't that he "isn't good enough".....it's simply that he isn't consistent enough, and when he does have a poor game, he tends to implode. In his 4 below average games last year, he had a completion percentage of 44.6%, threw for 0 TD's and had 6 INT's...... not surprisingly the Jets were 0-4. In his other 14 combined starts last year (11 good, 3 average), Mark had a completion percentage of 59.1%....threw 22 TD's to 8 INT's, and the Jets were 12-2. Now obviously ANY QB looks more impressive when you remove their 4 worst performances.....but I just wanted to demonstrate that in the vast majority of games last year (78%) Mark was both accurate and played at an exceptionally high level. What Mark needs to work on is his ability to prevent these all out implosions....and he'll start being recognized more readily as the already high calibre quarterback he's shown himself to be the majority of the time.
jesus dont start comparing sanchez to those guys because hes not those guys yet and might not ever be
