They are ALREADY calling for Coughlin's head. Like it's his fault that the team suffered five torn ACL's and that their lousy GM did absolutely nothing to make their team better?!?!
you mean other than not winning a aignle playoff game in 6 of 7 years? The SB run was great and I am sure they all appreciated it but that's 4 years ago now and they haven't won a playoff game since and have only played in one where they lost at home. Tom is rightfully on the hot seat.
I don't think he's a bad coach by any means, but sometimes both coach and team could use a change of direction. This might be one of those cases.
Then you better make sure that is one hell of a big seat, because you better put Jerry Reese and the entire training staff right there next to him. If you are gonna fire Coughlin, you better fire them all.
giants fans are freaking out. i've read some calling for eli's head too. while he looked skittish, and a lot like kellen clemens yesterday, i don't think all of that is on him. his o-line was not there yesterday. that said, i don't think coughlin lasts another year.
They should've fired him after last season. His act is tired and the team totally quit. Firing him now would be giving up on the season after one game. They're stuck with him unless they get in a much deeper hole.
Two or three late season collapses in a row He's an angry dipshit coach that reams out his punter after the defense surrendered 30 points unanswered His players hate him No playoff wins since 2007 Makes no effort to reach out to Plaxico or has no conviction to have Eli Manning restructure so they can sign players. (He had lunch with Plax or something but it definitely wasn't his idea) He's so far up his own ass he's lost his ability to coach. He must think angry discipline is the recipe for success. The only good he's done for that team is probably keep Brandon Jacobs from murdering a fan on the sideline, and Jacobs has almost done that heaving his helmet into Indy's fans
The Giants were in bad shape to start last season as well, but they almost made the playoffs in the end. Yeah, the collapses are bad, but they have enough talent to at least compete for a Wild Card. Having said that, if they misst he playoffs again this season, he's as good as gone.
Fair points, but that last win was a SB championship That discipline has nothing to do with the ring on his finger? Now this is just unfair. You should be blaming Reese for this, not Coughlin.
Jerry reese shouldn't have a job, the only reason he does is b/c of that fluky run to the SB w/ a team that most mostly put together before he got there.
I'm not sure if you recall but that SB year was when Coughlin took a different stance and lightened up on his routine. Players responded well to it.
If that is true, then why did he send his team out to try to win a meaningless game against the Pats on week 17?
Coughlin is a good coach but hsi time w/ the Giants has passed, it's time for a change for him and the Giants. I'm not a fan of reese.
Playing his guys week 17 has nothing to do with his irritable, angry-old-man shtick. I can't find a source but I believe the staff/players asked for TC to dial it down and be easy-going with the team. It payed dividends because they weren't so uptight. Then he wen't straight back to acting like he found out his daughter did porn.
