They may not be anti-american directly or by doctrine, but they do choose (note the word used) to not recognize the flag or other symbols of our country.

That doesn't make them anti-American. Insisting that someone must honor the flag to be a good citizen reeks ever so slightly of fascism. This guy DISrespected the flag, which I'm pretty sure they're also not supposed to do.

Jehovah's Witnesses have a lot of problems. They tend to be uneducated, their beliefs are poorly informed, and they tend to be haughty about them. However, it's unfair to call them anti-American.

I know, and I specifically said that they may NOT be anti-american, just that their religion requires them to conduct themselves in a way which is inconsistent with traditional pro-american conduct. Botton line is, as long as they stop ringing my door bell I'm happy.

I just talked to a JW friend about this. They don't choose to not 'recognize' the flag or any other symbols. They just don't worship any false idols or objects. That doesn't make them love this country any less than the redneck singing Toby Keith in his USA flag decaled Chevy.

Also... berating someone who is observing their rights AS AN AMERICAN to observe their own religion is UN-american in itself.

first off, his kid looks like leon from curb your enthusiasm, plus a beard.

second, i agree that security is retarded IF they really missed that on his hip. I know that I got searched thoroughly and they found a gun on the guy in front of me. On his hip.

after that point, he lost all credibility. He dissed rex for the cowboy gear comment, which was stupid because only an ass would see that as a call to arms.

He then dissed the marine. normally, i would agree that the marine was a dickhead. lets be honest here, most of them are when dealing with civilians. Most of them, especially young drunk ones, LOVE to get in fights. But on 9/11, which is an extremely emotional day for all those who are involved in the defense of this nation, i can see and sympathize with his anger toward the behavior of this guy.

then when he said he was glad that his father brought the stun gun, is when i felt that he was a complete asshole and decided that his father should rot in a cell. there is NO REASON to bring that kind of weapon into the meadowlands.

and save me the stuff about the jehovahs witness beliefs. considering the guy is covered in tattoos, i dont buy his beliefs. i now hope that he sees that marine again, because you know that guy is gonna light him up like the empire state building when he gets his chance.

You'd be surprised of what folks from non-metropolitan areas think of the NY/NJ area. I just don't think a 59yr old man is going to come all the way to NJ to start shit in a ballgame that he probably paid big money to see. Philly fans have a far worse reputation but you get my drift.

Absolutely. Especially back when you could bring any kind of liquor in via flask.(I know cause I did it several times..:) ) Just imagine if this guy tried this in Philly. Like I said, it could have been worse. Far worse..

If you bring a stun gun to a football game just to get into a fight with other team's fans? You could be a Blackneck..

As far as I know, Jehovah's aren't anti-american as say, the Louis Farrakhan/Jeremiah Wright brands of religion. Probably a last line of defense before he got charged and those crimes are serious. He shouldn't have taken his seat if he thought that deeply about it. He picked the wrong day to go to a football game.

Oh, I know first hand how they feel, I've been a lot of places around the country and am aware of the stigma. But I think that someone who was that scared about the big bad New Yawkers, and was mentally balanced and non-opportunistic, and wasn't the father of a schmuck DJ who goes by the very spiritual name of 'Charlamagne Tha God' who would do a dozen interviews the next day about the incident, would bring a stun gun to the game and cling to it for a false sense of security.

This whole thing stinks of opportunism. Maybe it wasn't premeditated, but it stinks all the same.

I guess we should be thankful that he didnt have a CCL too. Could have been really nasty in the parking lot. I'm just amazed he got that thing in past security.

No more than I am. There had to be a pretty heavy presence of Secret Service and military intel assets at the Stadium as well.

Actually, the first thing I thought when I heard about this story was the guy with the stun gun WAS secret service or some other security asset.

I thought they refuse to vote, support the troops and condescend upon American morals.

self defense?ell it's a good thing he brought it then. kudos to him for knowing a head of time he would have a problem to take care of at the stadium.
