So you're saying there was a chance Schotty could be coaching the Bills and Gailey could be the OC for the Jets? Although, Schotty was the one who turned down the request for an interview.
I REALLY want to see Sanchez work out of the no-huddle more. He strives so much under it, I don't know if it's the lack of involvement from Schotty or just the pressure but he seems to do really well from it.
Yeah I forgot about Tom Moore. What's his purpose anyway? doesnt seem like he's making a difference so far.
Schotty is a predictable play caller. There is always a pass on 3 and short, 2-3 trick plays that lose us yardage at best and we don't recover offensively until we go no huddle. Mark has a predetermined set of plays which he chooses in the no huddle and they are pretty successful. We need a new OC, and we need a RT. We need a pass rusher on defense, and we need a better safety with speed. The defense gets worn out by 3 and outs. Sustained drives will improve the team as a whole, and Schotty can't provide that. So respectfully, Fire the Fuck!
Cowboys won superbowls with predictable playcalling. Predictable playcalling that can consistently put up 20+ points a game is good enough to win for a team that's supposed to be built around defense.
I am not a schotty hater by any means, but even Phil Simms commented on how we were "not guessing right" when it comes to whether they were playing zone or man.
Schotty is in the last year of his 2 year contract he signed in 2009. We're stuck with him for this year as i don't see Rex/Tanny making a midseason change. I'll be damned if Tanny resigns this predictable dunce in the offseason though.
did our Captain not notice every time sanchez dropped back to pass in the 2nd half he was being hit and had no time to throw?
Holmes stated the obvious, good for him. Rex is going to live and die with the piece of crap running his offense. Time to wake up Fat man, he must see the lack of adjustments
Holmes has to be used better in this offense. He is like a 4.0 version of cotchery. Great hands, great feet and speed. Big Ben and Holmes made money every year together and in New York Holmes avgs 3 catches a game. Check down, check down check down... Throw the God damn football downfield. Clearly, we need the running attack to be effective to buy receivers/Sanchez more time with play action. Mix it up, there are so many weapons on this team it's ridiculous. Props to Burress blocking. He should give a class to th o-line. We know what needs to be fixed and it's only week 3. Get it done.
My money is on Matt Cavanaugh taking over the offense next year. He was the OC for the Ravens during their SB run and he knows Sanchez better than most other coaches on the staff at this point, probably better thatn Schottenheimer.
Well this isn't entirely true. Yes, the hurry offense worked great up until Sanchez tried to start the game in hurry offense and then it fell apart. It really is the playcalling. Its atrocious when we play a really good team. When we play a bad team or an average team it isn't as apparent. Our defense made a lot of mistakes too so we can't blame Shotty entirely.
Good for Holmes, yesterday was painful to watch especially after seeing what the Bills are doing with all 7th rounders or undrafted talent... They attack you all day while we attack your ability to tackle as opposed to your ability to cover. My main problem with the offense is the routes being called. Too many people in the same area doing routes that are too close together. IE outside guy does an out and the slot guy does a hook and we do this all to often. The deep post and streak in aren't known in this offense and the slant and streak are barely used. Sanchez has progessed and is putting up some very good numbers but most of it comes from no huddle situations ie(93 yard drive in 3 minutes). Its sad to watch him be held back and unfortunately if this continues we will finish 3rd in our division... I can't believe it.
I dont see why cavanaugh cant take over now. its not like he doesnt know the offense, and he has the relationship with sanchez already, so the transition wont be rough. i know its never really right to make a move like that mid season, but if we are free falling and go into the bye with a losing record, it has to be discussed.
I don't really think that was the case. JCo asked to be released and Mason was brought in to replace him. Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's how it went down. Plus it's not like Cotchery is lighting it up in Pitt. He's been hurt all season, which was a concern with the Jets coming into this season.
The Jets kept bringing in receivers and Cotchery finally decided they didn't want him as a starter. There are all kinds of possible takes on the overall decision tree here on both sides and I have no clue who was right in the end. You can argue that Cotchery was a heart player who contributed more to the team than his numbers would suggest. That's where I kind of am. You can also argue that giving up on a player a year early is better than getting stuck with him in the decline. I can see that argument also. I wish the Jets had not brought in Derrick Mason and forced the issue. I understood bringing in Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes and maybe even Plaxico Burress. Mason wasn't worth pushing a Jet out the door in my opinion. And the Jets definitely made overtures to Mason before Cotchery walked. They were worried about Holmes injury status (whatever it is that he's got at the moment and has had since camp) and they were worried about Plaxico adjusting slowly after not playing for a couple of years. Those worries cost them Jerrico Cotchery.
I'm tired of Rex making excuses for the offense. Yards are worthless if you don't score. The NFL record books are full of big yards that amounted to nothing. I'm not getting worked up about the team until Schotty is gone, it's pointless.
