You know I truly love the heart of Leonard, but he just isn't fast enough, stout enough to compete with the passing game that this league is going to. He is always willing to stick his nose in there in the run game, but that just isnt what the league. Smith, can't even stay with a tight end, and if he could control his body he would have had 4-5 more picks this year. We need a ball hawk.
A good play caller would be moving the pocket to help a weak line, sorry a injured line. A good play caller would call some screens to compensate with the relentless pass rush. A good play caller would calls some miss direction run plays. After that we need our OL to get healthy, and after that we need our QB to realize he needs to get the ball out faster, ergo, no fucking pump fakes
They haven't tried rolling out, so I'll give you that. They tried the other two, but the line is so decimated right now that it won't work One screen got blown up so fast Sanchez had to throw it up and start running away from 4 Raven defenders. You can't even call a good play with this line. So this isn't the time to kill schotty. Its time to pray that Nick's ankle heals when he wakes up tomorrow.
I don't agree with our attempts. We ran a screen right into an overloaded blitz, and we ran 2 miss direction runs, for 15 yards.

Actually the D played really well. Tonight's Jets O was so bad, they even struggled to accomplish 3 and out. 21 points off turnovers & almost no first downs. ==== Biggest need on this team has to be the O-Line.
A safety is the least of our concerns right now. Could we use a big time safety to cover tight ends, yes of course. Eric Smith is pretty bad at it. But we can live with Smith and Pool with Leonhard.

I don't think E. Smith or Pool are good choices for starters at safety. I also don't think this is all too important compared to the other problems this team is having right now.
