Found this on the broncos board and thought it was intriguing way to scheme the Jets Defense. Any other suggestions http://forums.denverbroncos.com/showthread.php?t=199095 We Must Utilize Our Tight Ends Against the Jets Its their weakness. I fully expect the Jets to key in on our running game and stop it. That being the case, Tebow is going to have to throw the ball. We all know Darrelle Revis will take Eric Decker out of this game, which leaves Eddie Royal and Demaryius Thomas. But they aren't the receivers that will do the most damage. A gameplan that features our athletic tight ends (Julius Thomas, Virgil Green) will help us move the ball at will against the Jets. An athletic tight end seems to be their weakness, because they don't have anybody to really cover a tight end effectively. Jason Witten, Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Gates, Kevin Boss, and Ed Dickson all gashed the Jets for big plays. I know the first three names are elite players, but Boss and Dickson are not. What do all of these players have in common? They're athletic pass-catching tight ends. I think the Broncos could really exploit some match ups and move the ball at will if they heavily feature Julius Thomas and Virgil Green against the Jets. Whether Tebow can get Thomas and Green the ball is another debate... Watching the Jets and New England game the Pats often split there tighends out and found mismatches with Leanoard and also the other safety Smith. The Pats also went after the Strickland hard. They put a tight end on him in the redzone and used a 6-6 TE to just get in like a rebound position and get the easy catch over the 5-10 185 pound corner. Julius Thomas is big, long and athletic and if you can get a one on one in the redzone with one of there smaller less talented corners like Strickland it could be area to exploit.
Tom Brady is much more accurate then Tebow and way better at reading our confusing schemes. Our team is going to come out angry on defense and if I was Tebow I would be worried. The real question this game is if our offense can bounce back and finish drives.
I'm more worried about Tebow gashing us on the ground than through the air. With the lack of speed in the front 7 it should be a major concern.
Tebow has field speed that makes liars out the critics who said he could not run at this level. I enjoyed this video breakdown of the matchup. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jrcWfBNwto
We should have found a way to keep Digs on this roster. I'm not saying the guy is Ed Reed, but he played with a lot of energy and helped out with some big plays. We found a goddamn spot for Mulligan!
Lol, did anyone see this post in that thread: Thomas with less than 350 career receiving yards and Tim Tebow tossing him the rock will beat Revis consistently
Makes sense ... why should the best defensive player in th league be expected to win a one-on-one matchup with ... what was his name? ... oh, yeah - Thomas ... he's really good. I think they should try that. Someone get me John Fox on the phone!
Nice analysis, first time I've seen this guy. Don't know much about the Broncos but he pretty much nailed it when discussing the Jets.
Rodgers throwing to Jennings, Stafford to Calvin Johnson, or Schaub to Andre Johnson was fruitless against Revis. All of a sudden JesusBoy to Thomas is gonna beat him? GTFO bro. Thomas may not be a 'joke' but you are. It's surprising you can type while having your hands wrapped around Tebow's cock
Are you one of those Jaguar fans that switched teams when they passed on Tebow and Denver selected him?
The big problem last game was that our offense couldn't exploit the weak pats defense. The pats took advantage of keeping their offense on the field and using the no huddle later to gas out our defense. Our defense will continue to do its job and what they can. Its our offense that needs to show up.
