Did anyone else see or was the fact brought up that on the hail mary attempt on the last play of the game Burress was basically tackled before trying to catch the ball. Is that not PI? Or am I missing something? Not that it would have changed the results but damn, it would have been one play, first and goal from the five.
yes i did........ I thought we were going to get another miracle call in denver. Was a clear pass interference. was so bad I thought they may actual give it to us.
I don't think they ever call anything on those hail mary plays. you can level somebody and it be fine
At the very least, he got spun around by the arm. That said, we'll never know just how hard he was fighting to actually get to the ball, or if he was half-assing it.
Really, then why not just tackle them all on such a play and don't even give the receiver a chance. I don't get what the difference is other than if they are both going for the ball, this was one DB tackling Burres by himself, Burress had to muscle him forward to even get a hand on the ball. That's not interference?
i never seen a flag thrown on a hail mary, but it was bad and clearly afffected his chance to catch the ball. he was in a decent position to do so. he got leveled. if it was un catch-able woudnt be a big deal, but i really feel if he didnt get smashed he had a shot at it> when he turned and looked at the official i thought a flag maybe coming
Hi. new to the board and a bronco fan. hope you welcome other teams. but yeah, I was kinda surprised that wasn't reviewed a bit more. I can't say I didn't see the "tackling" of Plaxico, but with 4 defenders on 3 receivers, with a ball in the air, some type of hanky panky seems probably
I agree that there will probably be some contact, it is almost unavoidable, but this was pretty clear cut, and I am pretty certain that the DB had his back to the ball, hitting Burress before the ball arrived. Burress was to the outside of the pack by the sideline.
The call last year was a rough call, lets admit that now. like everyone said i dont know if they ever call interference on a hail mary, but that was as bad as you will see, Were if you were ever going to get a flag on a hail mary that was it... he was literaly run into and almost knocked over.
And I think that is why there was a no call, the push off then the PI. I will say it should have been called. The way Officials officiate the PI and the Penalty's on a defensless WR are the most inconsistent out of all of them. I really think Refs need to be held accountable.
i wanted it to be called also, but i didnt think there was really a shot of it happening. the refs have been bad all year, cant ever figure out how they come to pi calls anymore.
Well there is always room for interpretation, but I thought it was a clear facemask and the announcers thought so too, but it doesn't alter the fact that the Jets lost last night and I'm having a really hard time believing it! SO many plays could have changed that game, I'm just stunned.
you will never get that call on a clear-cut hail Mary pass (where there's like 5~6 guys all in a bunch trying to play the ball). Its really meant to be a crapshoot play, thus should be refereed like one. There's plenty more to focus on in this debacle of a game
trust me i will take last years result over this one, i wasnt arguing against the call we got. yes i agree about this loss. Its so bad and to such a disgusting team, im not even mad, its laughable at this point. what can even be said. were just not that good
