TheJetsStream Manish Mehta Not a good sign for the Jets RT @KevinGArmstrong Brandon Moore in sweats, off to the sides. Missing practice for third straight day. #nyj http://twitter.com/#!/TheJetsStream What's going on here? We cant afford to have our O-Line lose another critical piece. Doesnt matter who we are playing
Rex is confident he will play. Probably just not pushing it and giving him time off. It's getting down to the wire.
Ducasse might be better at RG than LG or RT. Well, hopefully that would be the case in the event of a Moore injury. Not going to beat a dead horse on the depth issues but the fastest way to turn a good team into a bad one is to let the OL go to pot.
He got surgery to both hips in the off-season and at 31 + lockout (couldn't rehab properly) he might not be in the best possible shape. Sucks even more that we don't have Turner around as I think he has a future at RG.
I wouldn't be too surprised to see the older guys getting some rest as the season ends and we make a playoff push. Don't want to push their bodies too hard and risk hurting them before a game.
Hopefully just holding back so fatigue means he can go full on Sunday. Fearing this is the beginning of the end of B Moore's starting career.
Hopefully this is all that is, being held out as a precaution. I am guessing that the FO has learned that beginning next season depth on the OL is going to be a priority. No more projects but guys who can play a role if need be. I think this is the key to upgrading our team.
Yup. In the past years we've always been lucky in terms of injuries along the OL... this year not so much and the FO has to understand it can't always rely on good riddance. I still think Turner's injury and not Woody's retirement is what hurt us most. With Turner instead of Baxter and now, possibly, at RG we would've had a much stronger unit. I'm still hopeful Hunter turns out ok.
O-Line injuries is the last thing we need. We have seen what our team can do when our O-Line plays dominating football.
are we watching the same team? we need to secure a playoff birth before this comes into the equation. But I do agree that a vet like Moore can afford to mis some time unlike others.
I think your right, they went into the season with the firm belief that Hunter would pick up where Woody left off. Let's remember Hunter played very well at the end of last season but sadly he's an ok backup but not a starter. I do think the injury to Turner hurt more then we anticipated it would.
So a backup signed off the waiver wire is able to pickup the offense better in 1 week than Vlad can in almost 2 years? Yikes! Too bad because the kid has some serious physical talent.
I think you're confusing Schaluderaff (guy added in wk 1) with Howard (guy we picked up a week ago when we cut Nelson). I also don't agree that Vlad would be better off at G. Vlad is a T full stop. If anything he should develop in our future 6th OL in jumbo TE sets. He himself said he doesn't like playing on the inside.
You're right, I did confuse the 2. I also see Vlad as more of a tackle, but he should be able to play guard too. He was playing every line position but center in preseason. I do feel a lot better knowing Schaluderaff has been w/the team since September. Thanks.
I wonder how much talent Ducasse actually has? I mean, physical attributes yes. But, his talent level is seriously lacking. No wonder he went to UMass.
