...Michael Turner, RB, San Diego chargers. He's been playing caddy to ladanian tomlinson and they have a few back behind him for depth. This guy has been a beast when given the chance. He has size, speed the whole package. Every charger game I watch they mention how he could start for about 10 teams in the league right now. I'd pull the trigger on our 2nd rounder from washington to get him. An article today mentioned him briefly but nothing substantive.

"The Burner" is a good backup, but I don't know why he would be available. I would be shocked if San Diego trades him. I think it's another LaMont Jordan situation. This guy will leave when his contract is up. This is his third season. He probably will be a free agent after this season or after the 2007 season.

Turner is the guy who busted off that monster run to seal the deal vs. the Colts and give them their first loss (which they never recovered from) of the season.

hes not under the radar anymore, they let brees walk. no way they let their insurance policy at RB leave either. if tomlinson goes down, they need turner. and they know it.

i'd love to have him but it wont happen.

I went to the Chargers site and Turner has a 3 year contract which is up after this year. That would make him a RFA after the season.

i mentioned him in a few posts over the last few weeks...

the man is dynamite. he is NOTHING like trung candidate, who only weighs in at 205 lbs or so...turner weighs closer to 230. he is a pounder with GREAT speed.

he led the league in yards per carry for backs over 50 carries with a whopping 5.7. he has underrated hands and i think can DEFINITELY be a starter in this league.

and yes, he is in the final year of his contract, which is why he MAY be available...

They have Darren Sproles too, I doubt a 2nd round pick would pry him loose, but hey it'd be worth a try,

I'd give up our second rounder next year for Michael "The Burner" Turner.

the burner is freakin sweet. As far as SD not giving him up for a second, they wont have to be stupid not too.

This is very differant than the Lamont Jordan situation we had, Lamont was being groomed to eventually take over as the starter, it didnt happen, but that was the plan.

LT is young and incredibly awesome, there's no way the burner is eventually going to take over for him, hes strictly a back up and as soon as his contract runs up he will definetely sign with someone else. As Golden Boy said they already have Darren Sproles, how many freakin backs do they need?

they would have to be really dumb to not accept a 2nd for Turner IMO

I'd give a second rounder for him, but I don't see that happening!

He maybe worth a 3rd rounder to us but I'm sure he's worth more than that to them.

Turner has unbelievably strong legs, based on that Video.... but what the vid doesn't show is wether Turner can Block, and if his pass recieving skills are that good.. he caught one pass for like 8 yards out of 5 mins of clips.........

trade for him? do you really think he wants to sit his whole career behind ladainian tomlinson? the guy has so much upside it would be stupid to not ask for a trade. also schottenheimer knows him well. lets just offer them a 2nd round pick or something like that.

    He's played 30 games with 1 start.

He has 77 career carries for 439 yards (5.7 avg).

All 4 of his receptions were made in 2004.

I don't think he'll ever be a good starter. I do think he'll be a good backup for a decade.
