That play calling sequence could very well be what ends our season. 20-14 on the 50 with all the momentum and all the time in the world, and Brian Shithead calls three pass plays.

Exactly, I'm one of the last people to criticize schotty but that made no sense. On 1st down they pass, then they attempt to throw again and lose yards, so they had no choice but to throw on 3rd and long (one of many in the second half)

Yes I am watching the same game. You cannot throw INT's in the red zone at the most CRUCIAL stage of the game. How many effing times did you see Montana or any good qb do that shit when the playoffs are on the line.

You are an idiot for not noticing that the Jets were running the ball down the Giants fucking throat and every time the Jets threw the ball the offense took a dump. Dude you need to be honest with yourself about Sanchez. He makes horrible decisions (like throwing very bad ints in the redzone) that you can blame on nobody but Sanchez. Fuck dude what are you doing watching the game with Sanchez colored glasses. He played like shit and how the fuck can any defend that. Can he get better? Sure he can but F&*K he suck it up against the Giants. I cannot fathom how any one can think Sanchez does not share the blame. How do you run backwards 8 yards and take a safety late in a game? "Oh no that is not Sanchez's fault. The shitty coaches, o-line and wr's made him do it". Get rid of the ball and be aware of WHERE YOU ARE AT ON THE FIELD! Fuck that dude, open your eyes to reality. I know it sucks but fucking take it like a fucking man.

Can you honestly say with out a shred of doubt that Sanchez with all his fantastic decision making is the qb to take us to the promise land????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Every team in the nfl has its blind homers who refuse to blame their "franchise" qb. However, when every other fanbase and half of your own thinks that Sanchez sucks, well than odds are good that's going to be the case. Kinda reminds me of the isiah Thomas situation. A significant portion of Knicks fans were still defending him long after the rest of the league knew how bad he was. I remember how many fans were happy when he got an extension while the rest of the league laughed at us.

Same thing with Sanchez. Every other fanbase is laughing that he is the jets qb and even moreso that some jets fans refuse to lay any blame his way

Only a fraction of fan base belongs to the moron camp. Horrible play design will kill any QB, not just Sanchez. Not that he is immune - he's made his share of mistakes - but overall, I put the blame on the play designs. Sanchez is confused and not comfortable at all in this offense after spending 3 fucking years. That blame should go to OC, not the kid.

Ignoring the fact that this guy is a troll, how on earth are other fan bases that catch maybe 1 or 2 of our games every year supposed to be more informed about our team than us? Terrible logic.

Thank You ... I 100% agree ... Mark isn't eliite at this point and never will be with the way things are structred right now ... A few recievers that can catch would be nice .... Frustrated as hell watching balls go thru a recievers hands and into a defenders arms ..........

LOL, what makes brady so good is he can thread the needle and throw a pass into the smallest of spots to get the completion. 2 or 3 recievers with 5 yds or more of seperation is a major exaggeration.

sanchez is very inaccurate and can't be mentioned in the same breath as the elite qb's.

yesterday was by far the worst oc called game i've ever seen, but the problem has been both (qb & oc).

if sanchez play is these past three seasons is a passable grade to you, then you've been watching too many jets games and not enough football in general to know a good qb from a bad qb!

I remember in the redskins game I believe the announcers said the offense is going to call more plays with Sanchez's strength of running out of the pocket and throwing on the run. We did it, got the first down, and never used it again.

The OP is pretty much spot on.
I do not think any Jet Fan who shoulders MOST of the blame on Schotty feel that Sanchez is the next Brees, Manning or Brady.
We just know that we will never know his potential under this turd and that in a better system he could be a serviceable, productive and winning QB - There are not 32 "Franchise QB's).

But those who argue we have a good anything on the O side of the ball is pipe dreaming. If our big name receivers are so good - Why do they never get open when every team in the league has Wr's and TE's running free all the time?

Schitty has had his chance with other QB's - It is time that Sanchez gets his chance with a different. OC (system).

Everyone deserves part of the blame. People who only point the finger at Sanchez and want to run him (and Rex) out of town annoy me, but he's not playing well.

Is he improving his numbers? Yes. Am I giving up on him? Hell no. Offensive coordinators always get blamed, but Schottenheimer's gameplan today was inexcusable. The first drive was great. The rest of the game, run the damn ball. We talk so much crap, yet the one thing we say that we can actually control is being a "ground and pound" team.

Here are some damning stats on Sanchez.

56.2 completion percentage - It is an improvement, but it's still one of the lower numbers in the league. It's even more damning when you see that Sanchez has completed TWO 40+ yard pass plays all year. That ranks 33rd among qualified QBs. There are 32 teams. That's not good. We throw short passes, and Sanchez doesn't complete them all that well. Bad combination.

23 turnovers. While some of his stats may have improved, this certainly hasn't. With one game to play, he's already matched his rookie total of turnovers. He has 15 interceptions, 2 more than last year, and 8 lost fumbles, double the amount of the two previous years. The interesting thing about that is he has basically the same number of fumbles, but this year, we're not getting the bounces to recover them.

That all being said, the supporting cast is failing him. That's a big reason why we're failing to reach even our simplest goals this year. The offensive line has regressed dramatically, making our running game go from top notch to mediocre. And the receiving corps isn't as good as it was last year, with nobody who can stretch the field and scare teams that way.

Bottom line: We don't have any individual unit on our offense that is better than average, and that's why we have no identity. Sanchez is part of that problem, the line is part of that problem, so are the skill position players. None of it is good enough.

I think every Jets fan is in agreement that Schottenheimer needs to go.

I was typing this last night, I lost track of what I was typing, so screw it, I'm clicking submit. Merry Christmas.

As the OP, let me clear something up....

I am not convinced Sanchez is the QB who can lead this team to a SB victory.

That said, I am absolutely not convinced he is not either!

There is no effing way to say he is not at this point.

Up until last year, people said the same shit about Eli, who already won a SB! And he came into the league much more NFL ready! And with far better weapons than Mark has.

No QB would be successful under the current situation, none.

Does he make a lot of bone headed mistakes?? Fk yeah!!!

But keep in mind many QB's his age are. It even starting yet.

And I really need to question who the Fk is responsible for developing him??

They do not put him in position to succeed.

As a matter of fact, I am much more unsure of Rex as a HC then I am Sanchez as a qb.

I don't think he has any control over the team as they are completley undisciplined and unfocused, and the offense they play is pathetic, and he loves Schithead.

A HC needs to be more than a defensive guy.

Not to mention, I really question his talent evaluation.

The draft picks have sucked, and he thinks the team is far better than it is.

I am not ready to get rid of either, just saying I have more questions about Rex than I do Mark.

Sanchez is consistently getting worse. He is going the wrong way. Part of it is the Oline, and i'm not sure anymore of the playcalling blame because he says kill kill to everything called. But he is running out of the pocket when he doesn't need to,forcing bad passes and just plain regresing in the decision making.

i hate to say it, but the more i become engrossed in the game and the more i meet/interact with other jet fans.....

i have come to the realization that we have a horrible fanbase. The amount of people i meet or talk to who actually know what the fuck is going on and not just blindly blaming anyone and anything over any given single play is almost nil. the SOJFs outnumber rational jet fans at least 20 to 1.

What we need is a uniquely qualified person that can speak on this subject, and 100% sort out who the real scapegoat is. If only we had some truther that could reveal the real issues to us... we sad, sorry few who have mixed too many green colored cocktails.

    Don't be surprised.

Being a 2nd class citizen in your own town, playing a good portion of your games in a stadium named after another team, and going 42 years without even getting back to a Super Bowl will do that. Can't blame longtime fans for being frustrated. Coming close to the Super Bowl doesn't cut it unless you are a younger fan.

Well, I tried to tell you but you wouldn't listen.

What say you know? Who's fault is it now?
