Normally, I can understand that, but when you look at what a guy like Moorstead has done for the Saints and how inconsistent Conley and Folk were, I would not be opposed to using a lower round pick or two to get topnotch prospects, although I'd rather get a kid like Sharp from Ok. State who's had close to 60 touchbacks this season and was both the Big 12 1st team Punter and Kicker on the all conference squad.

Nick Perry is listed at 250... you think 20 LBS is that big of a difference? not to mention nick is a DE not a OLB
i say if we take a shot ON lavonte davis and he is just another maybin.. the move him to safety which he has played and played well. but i really think he would be a great OLB
OK lavontie davis may still be there in the 3rd or 4th what if we took a courtney upshaw in the 1st Levy Adcock in the 2nd and grab lavontie in the 3rd for safety in Nebraska he played all (TE and RB very well in coverage) and a situational player to play opposite of maybin? i think that would be the 3 best guys that all could start right now and make a difference
A couple years ago better than average guards were getting $6-7 mil per year contracts. Drafting a tackle that can help both our running game and our passing attack for the next decade sounds like a good deal to me. Bottom line is that we should have kept John Abraham.
Who do you have playing Center then? Mangold is our best Olineman and I don't think its close. They guy is one of the top 2 or 3 Centers in the game today. Abe's mostly speed rush guy and would be a liability trying to set the edge in this defense. He lacks the power rex likes out of his 34 OLB's. Its the same reason AMybin will most likely never be more than a role player for us. He's too damn tiny to contain in the running game.
I was a big Abe supporter but Mangold is the best center in the league hands down, and with Abe's durability always in question we win the trade with Atlanta 10 out of 10 times. Saying that it would have been nice to see what he could have done in a 3-4, he played linebacker in college so im sure the transition would have been flawless.
Abe wore out his welcome as a NY Jet. People tend to forget how he quit during a Raider Playoff game claining he was too sick. Has a familiar ring to it with Holmes.
