That was what, 3-4 games? Did you see the entire 2011 season? Hypocrite? What's that got to do with anything. I may be a lot of things, but that doesn't even apply here.

OTOH, you are nuts if you think Hunter is a good football player.

The thing with Hunter is he has (few) very good games versus good players and (many) bad games.

The fact he does sometimes have good games means he has the actual phsical ability to do it. Some, like me, hope that a new regime can bring that out on a more consistent basis. Might be wishful thinking I know...

I definitely see what you're saying about bringing out the best of a player with a new regime, but Wayne Hunter Was absolutely ATROCIOUS this year. He doesn't deserve another shot to start.

Fucking A! There's no reason why we should keep him.

Hunter was a good spot filler in previous seasons. Maybe he just doesn't have the stamina to go all game. I have no problem bringing him back to fulfill his old role of emergency tackle/blocking TE. Provided he can return to his prior usefullness.

Hunter has to go. He's going to get Sanchez killed.

If Ducass moves back to his original position of RG like in college or LG then between him and Slauson, and get quality backups in FA or a starter in case Ducauss doen't cut it, then that should take care of the guard situation besides drafting one.The guards have to be upgraded in Sporanos system. I can see 4-5 new additions in 2012.

The T position is required more attention than the G position. RT is a priority, and he has to be a top RT or close to it. The same thing, Sparono will get his guys in here and that means the OL has to be bigger and stronger.

The RB position will probably remain intact with maybe a push for that 3rd running back spot. Someone will show up, they always do.

The WR position will also change slighly, Kerley was a good pick up last year and he will see the field no doubt. Either Santonio or Plex will go. I beleive this will be addressed in the draft for sure.

The QB position will probable remain the same with McElroy being #2. If Sanchez struggles I can see Sporano benching him. The problem is will Rex override his decission?
If that will be the case and Sparano does not have the final say so and complete control of the offense, Rex is comitting coaching suicide and 2013 will be the new year of a new HC.

I thought he was a G my bad. Do you think he can play G? He has the ideal size for it.

I think we should really try hard to get Jared Gaither this offseason! He may be the best available OT/RT - and with his 6 ft 9 in he would be just perfect for Sparano's man-blocking OL-scheme. And additionally to that, the powerful Gaither would play beside B. Moore (who may not be the best fit in the new scheme).

I know, Gaither had some (really) bad injuries - but he finally seems complete healthy now - and so in my opinion he would be a huge upgrade for at RT. He won't demand too much money, has some important experience in the league despite being still young (25 years old!) and Rex Ryan could have a good connection to him (Gaither was with the Ravens from 2007–2010).

What do you guys think about this idea?!

FA for the short term. Draft for the long term.

I actually said this during a game! Picking up another player is no different then Letting Hunter stay on the team. He was horrible even with help and make the man next to him mentally accountable for his block's. Duccasse also hasn't shown he is ready for a rotation spot much less a starting roll. Bring in some new blood and see what we have in the back ups.

But I think a guy like J. Gaither could also be the solution for the long term...

Hunter could be a decent backup, but he's nowhere good enough to be a consistent starter. He did have a few good games last year, and unfortunately we were fooled by his post season performance in Woody's absence, but his bad games far outweigh the good ones.

Wayne Newton can block better than Wayne Hunter.

    Hunter must go.

That is an understatement if I watched the same game as you did, byz.

It looked like Hunter was pushing the pass rusher from behind toward Sanchez so the rusher would get the speed he wouldn't have had otherwise.

With all the critisim of Mark there is no way we wont get at least one new o-line starter. If your going to invest the future in Mark then give him more time in the pocket

I have said this about Hunter before, and I will say it again - he has potential. He didn't hang around the NFL this long because he cant play. And he did a good job of filling in for Big Wood when he got injured in 2010.

You give him a real NFL qb to protect and he becomes better instantly.

But, in a perfect world where you dont need to spend at least 12-15 mil on a real NFL qb, I would not mind replacing the whole right side of the line.
