During our last two runs, did we get this much hype?

The last two seasons, did the Jets get the hype and support that the Giants have been getting leading up today's NFC Championship game?

I swear maybe I'm just being bitter and jealous right now, but I don't remember gaining the same support from the media that the Giants are getting.

For the love of God, go 9ers.

I think part of it is bitterness and jealousy but I will say the Jets are the team that the media/fans love to hate, so they will never get the same positive reaction as the Giants and other teams...

I was thinking about this the other day and couldnt agree with you more! I was reading the post last week and the Giants seem to have some story on the last 15 pages along with a Giants train you could buy? . I don't get this either, the Jets in both years never got this much. I despise the Giants, today I'm a huge 49ers fan!

idk, i think that we got tons of hype last year...if i remember correctly they made the empire state building light up green and white. people were hosting massive jet parties, newspapers had us on the front covers, i think we got just as much coverage if not more...the jets havent seen a superbowl in 40+ years so when we were so close the hype was crazy! media ate it up.

2009: no, simply because no one thought they'd be there...... including most JETS fans... but once they beat SD, the hype machine started to roll.... remember Bloomberg's "REVIS ISLAND" dedication?

2010: Yes. unfortunately it didn't work out

but I will agree the media/world loves to hate on the JETS, that's why they're getting way more pub this year with all the bad stuff, than when they were doing well last year..... but that's the nature of the beast. Bad News travels fast, especially these days when everyone is infatuated with drama and bullshit.

Yes, absolutely. Maybe I was just a little more sensitive to it than I am to the Giants hype (because I actually pay attention to the Jets) but I think that we got more hype last year than I can remember for any playoff team aside from the Yankees.

I think the Jets game got as much publicity in the last two years, however, it was not universally positive, as is the Giants publicity is. Half of the Jets publicity is negative publicity, and this is of course generated by the Jets-hater ringleader Francesa.

Giants fans seem to think it is their birthright to win games like this, regardless of who they play. I remember the absolute shock and disbelief among Giant fans after the Giants lost 21-0 to a Bears juggernaut in 1985. Of course, the Giants have won their share of big games, but the Giants have had some terrible losses big games over the past ten years, losses that the media would never let the Jets live down.

Fact is, Giants negativity gets swept under the rug, while Jets negatives, like this "monumental" Jets collapse (which is not as bad as the Giants 2009 & 2010 btw) keeps getting brought up and dissected ad nauseum.

Yes, we did. They lit the Empire State Building up in Green and White and Jets talk was everywhere.

You are being bitter and jealous. The Jets got a lot of hype last year. In 2009 everyone thought the Jets would get smoked by Indy, but last year there was hype.

I think with the G Men, a lot of the hype is that no one thinks San Fran is a great team. To me they are a lot like the Seahawks team that beat New Orleans last year - not very good. They padded their win total with a very easy schedule, and had one good playoff game. I hope I am wrong, but I think the Giants win by 2 td's today.

For what it's worth, they've already beaten the Giants once this season.

I realize that. But that was a different Giants team. That was a team that was beginning it's usual 2nd half collapse. This is a completely different team.

I know it sounds strange, but the Giants are just a weird team, and often are 3 different teams in one season. They are good in the 1st half, bad in the 2nd half, and they are great again if they somehow make the playoffs.

Yes we got just as much hype---the empire state building was green---we had pep rallys,,,,me and one of my kids were interviewed on tv but I stray . We all just have to deal with this crap in our own way--it sucks that after all this years talk and bluster that we are home watching with alot of questions still to be answered goig into next year .--as much as it pains me---I will root for the Giants---not that I dislike the 9ers but I dispise both AFC teams .

Yeah we had a lot of hype. A lot of it heading into the second game was how 45-3 was going to happen and there was no way that we were beating Tom in NE because he had a 20+ regular season winning streak there and he won't lose to Rex twice. Then Cro called Brady an asshole, Welker made feet comments, Bart said he may head hunt Welker. I would say there was hype, but we were playing a division rival and the NY-Boston feud added on.

    and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJshw2Axsqc

I certainly remember us getting a lot of hype, and honestly I don't feel like the Giants are any more hyped now than they were in 2007 at this point.

IMO we got more hype than what the giants are getting now. While the giants were beating the packers, the jets were in the news for locker room nonsense. Last year when were playing the pats there was no giants news out there stealing our spotlight.

Well, at least the losers of todays games will be able to brag for the next year or so about having been to their conference championship game.
