So what you are then is either a) he doesn't give a shit or b) he has a death wish or c) it's not really what the media is hyping it up to be, right?

Personally? I would lean toward C if he says he is ready to go.

The Jets finished 8-8 and missed the playoffs, plus they don't have a very professional atmosphere with the way Rex runs things and the type of players that they sign and make captains.

Miami was only a game or two behind the Jets, so it would be very tempting for a player at his age to go to a warmer climate where he still felt he could have a shot at the playoffs. I think Miami is in a better situation to take on a QB like Brady than the Jets are at this point.

The Dolphins would be an ideal place for Manning to go, but I'd hate to see him in the division. Although, I don't think he'll ever be the same again because of the neck injury.

How did this go from Miami wants Manning to Manning wants Miami? I still haven't seen this in print anywhere although any mention of Manning by anybody in power in Miami would be serious tampering.

Just found one...ESPN is the source..not surprising.

Peyton is gonna go where he wants to go, and no one will be able to stop him.

What if Sparano got wind of some initial plans for the Fish to pursue Manning before (or even after) he got fired? The Jets could end up feigning interest in Manning just to sabotage it or drive the price tag up.

    haha....

"The Dolphins are changing the most successful part of their team.

The organization has decided to transition from the old Parcells/Sparano/Nolan 3-4 defense to a 4-3 attack for 2012, according to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post. This is an odd decision for a few reasons.

First, the Dolphins defense has been rather successful the last two years. Miami finished sixth in points allowed in 2011, and sixth in yards allowed in 2010. It wasn’t a perfect group, but their talent seemed well suited to a 3-4 defense.

The other odd part: The team doesn’t have a defensive coordinator yet. Mike Nolan has left for Atlanta and Todd Bowles is not expected to return. G.M. Jeff Ireland reportedly told his scouts to start looking for 4-3 players back in December."
