Hopefully we will start to see some real production out of the defensive line. With Ellis, Wilkerson and Pouha/DeVito, I think Jets have what it takes to run a successful defensive campaign for foreseeable future, even though getting one more stud DL wouldn't hurt.

Now, the next step is getting the hounds...

Ellis was always inactive last year (surely with good reason), Devito is white, and Pouha is old.

Wilkerson is the only guy that you can say without doubt is a building block for success for the future.

The other guys are questionable at best.

Kenrick Ellis pushed the pocket and shed blocks occasionally when he was in there, amidst some bad reps of course. There's upside.

Would like to see our last years picks under a full training camp. That goes for the previous draft class as well.

Are you saying there are no good white people on the D line?

To be honest all of the Vikes were good under him, granted this is a different system but he did have a good line in Minny....

This is a good point which has been overlooked
I think the lockout hurt a team like the Jets more than other teams, and
I am anxious to see how this off season goes

Karl Dunbar is white AND black. He can make both Devito and Ellis into Pro Bowl players.

Sweet. I guess we won't have to read your posts until 2013 then?

On a serious note, though, vitiligo is not some light stuff to make a joke about.

People can point to the fact that he had some quality players on his line, but Jared Allen was not on the Vikings during Dunbar's first two years. Not only that, but guys like Ray Edwards and Bryan Robison were able to develop and succeed as middle round picks (IIRC both guys were 4th rounders).

I'm sure he'll be an upgrade over Carrier, who was best suited as a secondary coach. I still don't blame the idea of pegging Carrier into that position because he would have been a great contingency plan had Dennis Thurman gotten a promotion to another team...Carrier could've stepped right in as DT's replacement. And who knows, maybe Carrier will be an option down the line as a DBs coach / DC since Rex helped get him his stripes.
