i dont know if any of you guys notice during fridays game, after we took a time out late in the second qrt, because we didnt have the right personal in, mangini yells to his cordinator 'get the right FUC:ING personal in there' now i dont know about you guys but i like that!!! it sends a message that mistakes will not be tolerated ala parcells, and a litlle bellichick, and unlike herm
Thats what was missing with Herm. Hold people accountable, instead of always patting someone's ass and saying....."go get em next time" I want to see that fire. I like Mangini's no nonsense attitude.
I generally don't find any reason to look at small things like that. Every coach has his way of doing things that work best for him and his team. Things like this are really insignificant if you think about it.
I saw him yell at the coordinator yeah. But if it screws up the relationship between the coaches then it's not a good thing. I wouldn't just because I saw Mangini throw f-shots at a coach for screwing up, I'd be happy if his entire style works. If yealling at coordinators doesn;t make any difference, then he'll probably stop, and you better be happy if thats the case too.
I agree that it's nice to see a coach with some intensity on the sideline, but just as it was unfair to judge Herm by the confused looks he had on the sideline, it is just as wrong to place any weight behind this. Any moron to stomp up and down the sidelines grumbling at his assistants.
I like holding people accounable, but "Get the right fucking people in there" is probably not necessary. It's better than nothing, but you can do it in other ways
This really made me laugh Abyz. I think the fact that Mangini actually recognized we had the wrong personal in is something to hang our hats on.
Herm would not have yelled because Herm would not have noticed we had the wrong personell or that we even called a time out.
I dont look at this as a negative at all. The fact that it was observed AT THE TIME..and not by a dick curl watching tapes the following Monday is a plus. Is it neccesary to yell and use the f word on the sidelines to correct a problem? Only if it works the next time. As you stated, the fact that someone picked up on it is a bonus. I like the use of the f word...a dirty look...screaming and yelling...ANYTHING compared to a coach walking the sidelines with a stupid grin just shaking his head and chanting for anyone to hear "I dont know..something didnt look right there...was that right?". There were 11 guys on the field..and the previous regime would have looked at that play and said "ok..mangold was back to receive the punt...yeah....but we did have 11 players on the field" followed by high fives with the coaching staff. The fact that this 34 year old novice declared by the media not to have a clue about running a football team..providing information etc has the balls to do that is good enough, again, for me.
The fact is, that many of us realize that the next 3 to 5 years are riding on the hope that Mangini is or will be a great franchise-type coach. If Chad's shoulder don't hold up or we don't get a running game or the lines suck, that means 2006 is shot. If Mangini isn't "the guy", the next half decade is a washout. We're watching every little thing. Chad's shoulder, our running game woes and questions around the D-line,
I also like it, its about time for the coaches or players making mistakes get ripped. Like others have stated with Herm it was always its ok and nothing ever got fixed.
Remember when Herm almost got into a fistfight with Bishop Harris at SD in the playoffs? Give me results (I'm still not 80 years old,though)....
