Easy to see that now, but up until he was with the 'Skins, there was no previous example of him being a shithead. (Except, of course, the already-mentioned stomping incident.)

What if the Jets had a chance a few years down the road to get Suh? Would you take it?

I agree that Haynesworth is a vile human being, don't get me wrong. I just don't live under any delusions that all of my favorite sports teams only employ nice guys. Fact is, most of them are probably assholes.

You could be right, I have no idea and wasn't really (intentionally) over-blowing the demand for his services. No one truly knows because he never hit the FA market. The way the Patriots stockpile late-round picks though, it seemed like it was worth coughing one up.

Belichick is not infallible by any means. He's made some horrible decisions with personnel, drafting, and in-game coaching at times. I still think he's the best coach in the league, but he's far from perfect. And it's likely he's quite an asshole too!

I was definitely one of the people who thought that Haynesworth would revive his career with the Pats. As much as he sucked for the Redskins, it was incredibly clear that Mike Shanahan had no interest in using him as anything but a scapegoat to humiliate so I could see why he didn't put in the effort there.

At this point it's pretty clear that he just doesn't have the drive to succeed in the NFL now that he's no longer physically dominant.

Haynesworth will be a great compliment to T.O. and Randy Moss..... in the Arena Football League.

If Suh just maintains the level of play he had displayed as a rookie, not even taking into account the second season, I would in retrospect give up the Jets entire 2010 draft for him. The greatest pass rushing defensive linemen are always partially insane, anyway.

Suh has once in a generation type of talent, unless he gets Bo Jacksoned, he will likely stroll into the Hall Of Fame.

Haynesworth had one good season and one career season after five pedestrian seasons and he got paid a king's ransom for it. Since then, he has gone from good to poor to nonexistent.

    I wouldn't compare those two.

They really are all a little insane, huh?

I absolutely see your point... I was at a loss to come up with another example of quality "stomping" in the NFL. The Haynesworth and Suh incidents were the only ones that came to mind. Though Haynesworth's was worse, IMO, since he did it to a guy's face.
