I don't want Cotch, we need speed (only 2 pass plays > 40 yards all season). We had no ability to have game changing big plays last year on offense.
Honestly, people like to say that, but the reality is chemistry doesn't really mean much. You can have the worst chemistry in the world, but if you want to keep playing in the NFL, and if you want to keep winning, you'll get over it on the field and still block for your quarterback, throw to your best receiver, ect. I know that my first semester in college, I absolutely HATED my quarterback, but there was no way I'd ever leave him out to dry on the field or not block for him, because at the end of the day, everyone wants to look good.
Chemistry does matter in football and basketball. It does not matter in baseball. If Holmes and Sanchez worked together in 2011, it may have meant an extra win or two and the Jets would have been in the playoffs.
Nelson is a must IMO at the right price. I don't know why people are suprised at our activity considering our cap situation. And most of the people we should've targetted were either franchised or are getting extremely overpaid. Schillens is a classic example of not paying too much to be dissappointed and potential lightning in a bottle. If he can stay healthy he'd be a decent pickup at a position of need. End of story
Better do some more research as Weeb is NOT the person who made that quote U have in your signature
People play at different levels from one year to the next. You never know what can happen. Even if we came in with the exact same roster we could be a better team. Say Hunter plays to the level he played down the stretch in 2010 and Sanchez clicks under Sparano and jumps into the top 10 or 15 QB's in the league. That alone would push us above 10 wins maybe more. We still have a draft too. Which I would hope we would get an immediate contribution from at least our first round player which could help fill the needs at RT, LB, or WR. Maybe Victor Cruz doesn't squeeze through the two tackles before the half in the Giant game and their fans are saying hey we were 8-8 out of the playoffs and were not making any moves...how are we going to get better. The difference between average and great is not that much of a jump in the league today.
I have to respectfully disagree. As I said,a t the end of the day, these players are playing for their paychecks and they all want to look good, so they don't slack off or sell out their teammate on the field.
Yes, but consider the three game road trip, West Coast, Baltimore, NE. And the Thursday night road game after a Sunday night game. Ya gotta play whats on the schedule, but thats brutal.
as far as off-season improvement goes, the addition by subtraction that is Shittenheimer ranks up there w/ these FA signings
Heres some positives, MoWilkerson should be a lot better next year. Kyle Wilson will be better, I assume Sanchez will be better. I can make a list of players that should be improving next year, thats how the teams getting better. There are players that will decline, but hopefully the positives outweigh the negatives and we have a winning football team next year.
