Smith wasn't a clearer #1 pick. Until the 49ers drafted Smith nobody knew for sure which of the QB's was going on that slot. It was also one of the weirdest drafts in NFL history with no trench players going in the top 10. DeMarcus Ware was the best player in that draft and he went on the 11.
well other than aaron rodgers... looking back at it that was a weird draft and it did not have alot of very productive players in the first 2 rounds.... i might add thats the year we selected place kicker mike nugent in the second round...
19 pro bowlers in the first 3 rounds. One of those pro bowlers, Justin Miller. The Jets second pick of that draft. Mike Nugent is what you call a reactionary pick. Still baffles me to this day taking a kicker with your first pick
I agree with Mike. Don't believe everything you hear. I think the report is not true. Mike knows he's not getting Larry money. Not until he completes his next contract, just like LF, and turns in to a beast. He's a one trick pony. He's good, but not Larry/Megatron good. Those two are on a level of their own.
THey have similar stats so I can see him getting something similar. I just dont think of wallace the same way I do fitz... it coudl be a ploy so teams dont look at him, I think he wants to be a steeler.
I mean Wallace is very good, but like others said: Megatron and Fitzgerald are just in a class of their own.
